MFM is one of the best courses in NIFT shillong. Campus are alloted according to your Rank. FACULTIES ARE BY FAR THE BEST I have never seen any professors who actually talks about the real industry required skills. they have their full ciricullum designed as per the skills requirement in the industry. my whole couse i have approximately made 150 presentations and delivered in the classroom environment. Most of the faculties are PHD. and some are master from NIFT itself and having industry experience of approximately 6-7 years with good companies. In NIFT, MFM exams are moreover group presentation. they are very crucial. NIFT shillong faculties don't give free fund marks they mark you on the besis of how u perform. clearing the exam is not that diffcult.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you have an interest in fashion then a master's in fashion management is the way you can choose to widen your mind and also if you are interested in business in the future. faculty and students have great bonds here they are just like friends and family type of relation is between them. They are available anytime. Teachers are highly qualified but yes what teachers teach you is not enough but you need to give time to self-study as much as you can. it's not that easy also. In NIFT every exam is jury-based so you need to stand in front of the questions of externals and need to justify your work then only you can score, so you need your ideas to be very clear and on point. sometimes they just shout to check your patience.

Campus Life:

The annual fest is conducted in the month of August-September and generally, there are festivals celebrated on the campus. All the required books are available in the library and no one is allowed to share the syllabus of nift outside. A.C., desk, chair, charger, board, projector, and all facilities for presentation and live classes are available. different campuses have different sports but the majority of the sports are available in all the campuses like- badminton, basketball, gym, cricket, and TT. There are sports, photography clubs, and many more clubs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

There are a lot of scholarship schemes that one can avail of. But the process for this is tedious. A lot of documentation and scrutinizing is required, so that the one in need can only avail of the scholarship benefits. Placement on campus is average, a lot of competition is there. One needs to be really really good to get one.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to have an insight of the fashion industry and how it works, that's why I opted for this course. Faculties are best there, they teach you in the best n easiest way possible. Almost all of them are NIFT qualified so they know in and out of the course structure very well. MFM is a 4 sem course. In every SEM we have to give 2 assignments and 1 final exam for each subject. And if you just concentrate well in your class, passing isn't a big deal.

Placement Experience:

Students might get placed in their internships also if the company find them good or else placement takes place after the end of the course every year but the students aren't restricted to find the opportunities on their own as well.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is designed really well. But implemented in a very pathetic manner. Faculty is to student ratio can be approx. 1:7 The faculty has great on-paper track record. But when it comes to teaching, they lack quite a lot of things. The CC never welcomes positive changes in the department(FMS). Marks awarded are very very poor when compared to other campuses. And this will have a great impact on the centralised placements. Because, your competitors will have great marks. While your campus students lack marks. Sorry to say but, Boys are always given very less marks when compared to girls. Hypocrisy on another level. ROI is very poor. They charge you hefty amount of fee. But when it comes to placements, it's very poor. You get offers like 15k or 20k per month. Whereas, NIFT Bangalore has a really great industry associations and because of this, their students get placed very easily. If you're looking for great placements, then Hyderabad campus will disappoint you badly.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions:

My batch paid overall fee of around 5.75 lakhs. In addition to this, you incur high expenses on the assignments which will ultimately get into trash can. Each assignment will cost you around somewhere between 200 to 500 rupees. Sometimes even more. So, be ready to spend at least 8 to 10 lakhs for 2 year course (Including your lodging). And this expense is way too much. If you're planning for MFM course, i suggest you to try for IIMs. You spend similar fee there as well. But, at the end of the day, at least you will have great job in your hand. MFM fetches you a job offer of 15k, 20k per month etc. I never got any scholarships. So, i can't really comment on it. So, finally all i can say is that your return on investment will be very very poor.

I think that the fee structure is feasible and a bit expensive but reasonable as it is a Fashion College. The fees are quite less than other private fashion colleges all over the world. It provides us with practical learning and experiences at affordable ranges. For my 2 years Master's journey I have to pay Rs 4.54 lakhs including tuition fees, exam fees and other fees like admission fees and renewal fees as well in total.

College Events:

Apart from Fresher's, farewell and other cultural events and fests, we also have several more enchanting events like Fashion Show, Ramps and other Fashion Exhibition, where students exhibit their skills and handwork. We also have creative shows and talent hunts in our college every year. The events that I liked so much was Spectrum 2019 and NIFT convocation with student creation 2019.
