Course Description

Applications for all the programs offered by IISc Bangalore can be filled and submitted through online mode. Candidates can submit the application fee through online payment modes viz. net-banking, debit card, visa/master credit card.

Following are the pre-requisites for filling out the application form:

Certificate / Mark sheets: 10th Std, 12th Std, UG Degree and/or PG Degree.
Details (Registration/Roll Numbers, Paper Code /Score etc.) of JEE Main/ GATE / CEED.
Payment Option: Mode of payment available are Net banking, Visa Card/Master Card, Debit/Credit Cards.
A scanned image of your passport size photograph (to be uploaded).
A scanned image of your signature (to be uploaded).

Steps to fill the application form

Step 1: Registration

Candidate should log on to the IISc registration portal andregister with the email address and a password to start the online application process by creating a new user account. Email ID used to register cannot be changed later.

Upon submitting the registration form, the candidate will receive an email to verify the email address by clicking on a link. After the e-mail address is verified, the registration is complete.

Step 2: Fill the Application Form

Next, the candidate should log on to the IISc registration portal to fill the application form. The Application Form is divided into four sections, each appearing inside a separate tab.Candidates will have to fill all the details (especially mandatory fields) within a given tab, click on “Save & Proceed” button to proceed to the next tab.

The following tabs will appear for the candidate to fill in order to complete registration:

Tab 4: Application Fees

Upon filling in all the details, the candidates should preview their application to verify all the details and find any errors by clicking the ‘Preview your Application form’ button. Candidates can click the ‘EDIT’ button and correct them. Candidates should repeat this process until the Application form is completely and correctly filled.

Once sure about the correctness of the application form, press “CONFIRM TO SUBMIT” Button. Subsequently, a PDF version of the filled-out application form will appear which the candidates should download and save for future use.

Eligibility Criteria

BE/ B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline OR Master’s degree in Science / Economics, Geography, Psychology, Management, Commerce, Operations Research, Computer Science OR Master’s degree in Engineering / Technology / Architecture/ Agriculture / Pharmacy / Veterinary Sciences.

A valid score in GATE/ NET/ JRF/ GPAT followed by a written test (for some departments) and interview round.

Along with B.Sc (Research) and PG courses, the institute also offers Integrated PhD program in selected disciplines. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Biotechnology/ Chemistry/ Physics/ Mathematics/ Pharmacy/ Veterinary Sciences/ Agriculture with a valid JAM score are eligible to apply to this program. Those in the final year of their qualifying examination and awaiting results are also eligible to apply.

BE / B.Tech degree holders who qualify Mathematics/Mathematical Statistics paper in JAM can apply for Mathematical Sciences
Those who appear in Biotechnology paper in JAM can apply for Biological Sciences discipline
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of JAM score for all the four disciplines.
In case of Physical Sciences discipline, JEST will also be considered for shortlisting.

How to Apply for M.Tech, M.Des, M.Mgt & Ph.D. at IISc Bangalore?

The application form can be filled by following the below-listed steps:

Candidates seeking admission can submit the application forms through online mode from the official website.
The application fee is INR 800 for GN/OBC/KM candidates and INR 400 for SC/ST/PWD categories.
Application fee can be submitted online through any of the following online payment modes viz. Net-banking, Visa Card/ Master Card, Debit/Credit Cards.
Candidates intimated for the aptitude test/group discussion and interview should bring the attested copies of all their transcripts (marks cards from SSLC or its equivalent onwards, degree certificates of the qualifying examinations, etc.).

Candidates seeking admission to the Integrated PhD programs should qualify in JAM and must update the corresponding scores immediately upon the declaration of JAM results. Candidates who have appeared in the following papers in JAM are eligible to apply for respective disciplines which are as follows:

Because iisc has so many companies plus government projects, you can only intern in college from may to june

Dislikes

Infrastructure, labs, students, professors, teaching methodology , and the worst aspect is that the course structure is very hectic until you become interested in your course.
All of my friends were having a good time with the arguably lighter course structure, as well as all of the DJ nights and the culture fest, while I was stuck with almost nothing.
