Since, I completed my graduation I had a keen interest in the Human Resources function. Thus I applied for colleges who is recognized for their Human Resources specialization. We have a class of 90 students in HR, 85 in marketing & 50 in finance approximately. We have both in-house faculty and visiting faculty. We have multiple subjects which are taken care by 2 faculty combinely. Some of the qualification of our teachers would be CFA, CA, SHRM, MDHEA, LLB, MMS,etc. We have classes in the traditional format, lab based and even workshop mode. We have a semester of nearly 5-6 months each and after 2 months from the starting of the sem we have our mid-term exam and then finals. In between we have regular class evaluations and assignments marks based. If a person religiously pay attention and do what is required then it is not that difficult to clear the exam.

I chose the SCMHRD MBA-HR course because it is one of the best in the country with an illustrious history and a great legacy. The alumni base for me was a very important thing and I did reap many benefits of the alumni base during my internship by connecting with many alumni. The faculty in the college are decent and a few industry bigwigs also visit as visiting faculty to teach us. The term-end exams were conducted promptly and the exams weren't really difficult to get through.

This course gives you a detailed learning of project management and project finance. This course is not just limited to infrastructure management but gives you an overall 360 in-depth knowledge of management
The college provides a rigorous course curriculum, Being in the BA batch you're trained not just on R/Python or other technical skills, the college also hones managerial skills through regular & elective subjects & case discussions.
The faculty is well educated and teaches in reference to the industry standards. The BA course is well updated with time and is being modified as per the feedback from companies and the alumni of the BA batch. However, there is a blend of general MBA with this.
Take this course if you are interested in technical aspects as well as management. The faculty is pretty good. Do not worry about the student-faculty ratio. All faculties are well qualified and leaders in their domain. There are 2 semesters in a year. It is easy to pass exams.
The course curriculum is vast and gives extensive coverage of general MBA topics as well as for analytics. Most of the faculties are guest faculties and reputed people from the business side, so they have real-time knowledge of the industry. Student to faculty ratio is less since there are lesser students in this course compared to other courses. Exams are moderate to difficult and are held twice each year. However, assignments and other small exams can be held anytime.
I am currently pursuing MBA in operations from SCHMRD, Pune as it is one of the most amazing colleges for the same. The college offers decent placement packages and also ample opportunities to grow and learn. The faculties I feel are highly educated and also try to engage and motivate students by introducing new ways of learning. Exams are conducted after every trimester.
The simple answer to your question is no, the new HR programs of IIM Ranchi, NMIMS, or XIMB are not at par with the established ones XLRI, TISS, MDI, and SCMHRD. The established programs especially that of XLRI are the epitome of HR programs. They cannot be compared to the new ones at any given level or parameter.
Now one can say that the curriculum can be replicated and learned faculty can be sought to match the quality of the HR program at these institutes. But the truth is faculty and curriculum are the main but not the only factors that determine an institute's worth. Its own culture, ethics, and background have a lot to do with the programs it offers.
So one cannot match XLRIs programs no matter how much they try.
