BITSoM: Courses, Fees, Placements, Cutoff, Scholarship

Ans. BITSoM offers only 1 PG program i.e, MBA, with 5 specializations.

Ans. There is no cut-off at BITSoM, but the institute expects a higher score in the CAT/ GMAT/ GRE. The CAT cut-off range is expected to be around 88 to 99. The median CAT percentile for the MBA batch 2023-25 was 94 percentile. 

Ans. Though BITSoM is comparatively a new management institute, it has an exceptionally good performance in terms of placement. During the 2023 placements, the highest package stood at INR 50.10 LPA and an average package at INR 23.85 LPA. 37 students also received PPOs.

Ans. The MBA fees at BITSoM is INR 25.72 Lakhs, including the tuition fees and accommodation fees of 2 years.

Ans. BITSoM accepts CAT/ GMAT/ GRE exams for MBA admissions. 

Ans. Anyone who fulfill the following criteria are eligible for admission into BITSoM MBA program:

• A recognised undergraduate or postgraduate degree in any discipline from a recognised Indian institution or international university.
• Appeared for any of the exams like CAT, GMAT or GRE.
• Exemplary record of academic and extracurricular achievement.

Ans. The GMAT score range for the MBA batch 2023-25 was 600 - 700, and the median GMAT percentile is 690.

Ans. Yes, BITSoM offers a residential MBA program and it is mandatory for all the students to stay at the campus accommodation. 

Ans. The hostel fees for 2 years is INR 2.60 lakhs at BITSoM.

Ans. The intake for MBA batch 2024-26 is 160 at BITSoM.

Ans. The candidates who have received an offer letter for admission into the MBA program are required to pay a one-time admission fee of INR 1.5 lakhs. 

Ans. Yes, BITSoM has Merit Scholarship, Merit cum Need Scholarship and Women’s Scholarship for deserving students.

Ans. Yes, the candidates who have accepted the admission offer and paid the admission fee can apply for an education loan. BITSoM has tie ups with leading banks that offer exclusive interest rates and terms for BITSoM students.

Ans. Yes, BITSom accepts sponsored candidates, but the admission process will be the same as the non-sponsored candidates. 

Ans. To be eligible for the Merit-cum-Need based scholarship, the applicant’s family income, including applicant’s personal income, should not be more than INR 18 Lakhs annually.

Ans. Yes, it is mandatory to appear for exams like CAT, GMAT, or GRE for admission into BITSoM. 

Ans. BITSoM does not have a cut-off or sectional cut-off. Though according to the MBA batch 2023-25, the candidates should have a score in the following range:

Ans. Yes, any work experience is welcome. Candidates can enter details of their family business experience in the work experience section of the application form.

Ans. No, the candidates can only apply once in an admissions cycle. However, it is possible to apply again for the next academic year.

Ans. The interviews at BITSoM will be conducted online through zoom. The candidates can choose their interview slots according to their preference. 

Ans. The BITSoM campus is within 1km from the residential complex. It takes approximately 5-10 minutes to travel by the shuttle, subject to traffic conditions.

Ans. The student apartments are air conditioned, fully furnished with a working kitchen set up. WiFi, Refrigerator, Washing Machine, Induction Plate, Bed Linen are some of the amenities provided to the students. There is also a provision for doctor on call, parking facility and paid laundry service. The residential complex is equipped with 24×7 security for the safety of the students.

Ans. Apart from access to the classrooms and the library, the students have access to dining facilities, cafe, first – aid, wellness center etc.

Ans. Yes, it is mandatory for the BITSoM students to stay at the campus residence. 

Ans. Placements will start in November/December every year, for final year students. While a few companies may start coming in from October onwards, the placements will continue till the end of March.
