Majority of the topics are really useful as per the current scenario. As I am a civil engineer I have never got a feeling that what we study now are useless. But some irrelevant topics are still there in the syllabus which doesn't have any use to us in future.

The college is autonomous now, and have set a new course curriculum, which is really relevant. The students are given training on a wide variety of skills and are given exposure to the industry by Industrial visits, Internships and other special training programmes. The college was following the syllabus set by the Kerala Technological University for our batch and it was not so good. It doesn't involve any such things. However the college always encouraged IVs, Intenships and conducted training programmes for us. Now all of those are the part of the curriculum set by the college.

The education and academic curriculum are truely based in KTU university of kerala. It was fair to meet up all academic interests in a semester with good priorities in both acafemic and sports meets etc..

I selected this course in this college as they provide an outcome-based education. They focus on two things. The first one is to develop professionals with enough knowledge of modern technologies and software, with the help of which, engineering solutions can be developed for real-world problems. The second one is to develop physically and mentally fit persons. Here physical education is also a part of the curriculum.

I choose civil engineering because I was interested in buildings and drawing plans than programming and circuits. About civil department in TKMCE, it is the most strictest and disciplined department. They provide us the best faculties. They initially divide students into groups and each advisors are incharge of each group. The advisors are guided by senior advisor. And senior advisors are guided by HOD. Most of the faculties are IIT graduates and phd holders. Everyone is well qualified. Each faculties teaches well and the topics are clear. We usually has 2 series examinations before the final examwhich makes the end sem exam easier
