The College of Engineering Perumon, Kollam Kerala was established in the year 2000 under the Co-operative Academy of Professional Education (CAPE). It is the Nodal centre for Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and has received Best Performance Award by MVR foundation, Kannur. The college is positioned at 19th in KTU out of 150 colleges in Kerala. The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses under various specializations of engineering. Students seeking admission in the college must fulfill the eligibility criteria as per the required course. The selection criteria for both courses are as follows
B.Tech Selection Process
The selection is made based on rank obtained in the state-level Common Entrance Exam conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala State. 50% of the seats will be allotted through CEE and the remaining 45% seats are reserved for Management Quota on merit basis of CEE. 5% seats will be filled by NRI students on the basis of rank/
M.Tech Selection Process
For admission in M.Tech, the student must have a valid score in GATE and a minimum of 55% marks in AMIE/AMIETE examination. 75% seats (14 seats) will be filled from open merit whereas 25% seats will be filled under Sponsored category. For candidates applying under sponsored category must have a minimum of 2 years of experience after qualifying a degree.

For the smooth transition of students from the academic to the professional world the college has a Career Guidance and Placement Cell that works tirelessly to make sure that the best companies hand-pick their students. The cell organises various skill building activities like aptitude training, pre-placement orientation and training, Infosys pattern training and many more throughout the year.
A total of 86 students were placed in the placement drive conducted for 2019-20 academic batch. The college has improved its placement record from previous year where students only received 40 offers. The institute offers various scholarships through which students can benefit. Some of them are mentioned below:
- Scholarship for reserved category from the Co-operative sector with INR 15,000 per year, irrespective of income and marks).
- Co-operative Professional Education Fund scholarship 2018 with INR 15,000 per year for students secured 85% or above in +2 and family income less than INR 100,000
- The students belonging to economically backward classes are eligible for fee concessions according to the norms of the Government of Kerala.

- Library: The college is having a full-fledged library. It has a vast collection of 20,000 books, 8572 titles and 53 printed journals. to enhance the knowledge of the students and staff of the college.
- Academic Software: The academic software is for the purpose of monitoring a student’s academic activities like attendance, assignment marks, internal marks etc. Parents can also access this portal via the login credentials given for them.
- Canteen: A efficiently working canteen in the college is managed by Kudumbasree Unit of Panayam Grama Panjayath. The canteen is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and provides breakfast, lunch and dinner for the students as well as the staff. It is also easy going in the pocket.
- Staff club: It is an association to improve the interaction between the teachers. It conducts an Onam fest and Christmas celebration along with innovative talks and short-term training programmes for the staff.

- One of the the biggest things that I experienced was that the teachers and other college faculties were really supportive and always stay by the students whenever they need help.
- The campus has really great infrastructure for studies and even great atmosphere for sports and other extracurricular activities.
Dislikes
- The campus doesn't have a good canteen facility which makes the students travel outside the campus to have food and other things
- The campus is full of stray dogs most of the time. Even though the faculty removes the dogs regularly from the campus ,the dogs still find their way back into the campus.
Admission:
The eligibility to be admitted for the course is to achieve a minimum of 45 percentage marks in Higher Secondary Examinations and also to pass the KEAM entrance exams. Even if one has not been able to attend the KEAM entrance exams, they can still be admitted for the course through NRI quota seats.

- I most liked about the campus is freedom.
- Most of the faculties are students friendly.
Dislikes
- Some of the faculties are mad and they are rough behaviour.
- The college is full of forest and ground full of stones.
Admission:
We need to pass 12th in the science stream with a good percentage. We need to attend an entrance exam to get admission in btech courses, in Kerala it is KEAM, and score a good mark to get high ranks and get admission in top colleges in Kerala.

Admission:
KEAM rank along with higher secondary marks are the main criteria. The admission process is really smooth. Selection is made as per the rank obtained by eligible candidates in the state-level Common Entrance Exam conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE), Kerala State.

Admission:
I took an entrance exam to get the admission merit quota. You need to qualify for the entrance exam and you need a minimum of 60 percentage marks in 12th grade to get admission to the government merit quota.
Admission:
Centralized admission process through Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical examination (Keam). A rank list prepared on the basis of KEAM and plus 2 marks are used to allot seats to various engineering colleges under APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University. With respect to the rank list prepared, our preferred options can be given and the allotment shall be based on the preference rank list has an important role in getting our preferred option). A minimum of 60% in PCM is needed along with the preferable KEAM cutoff marks.
Admission:
I had given my option list to almost all govt colleges but due to the cut-off marks, I got admission in the 2nd allotment in the college of engineering, Perumon. I got admission under the OBC quota. The last year's cut-off rank for OBC in our college was nearly to 35k. The admission process is completely online and you only need to give correct priority of option for your admission. You need to be very careful while giving your options.

Nice , good teachers, They teach very understanding method.term exams marks are contest in university exam, so this mark is important.faculties are very helpful in all matters including searching for jobs.

I chose this course because I personally love to interact with computers. There are enough faculties (about 2 faculties for 60 students ratio ) and they are highly skilled.each semester will have 2 series exams and an end semester exam.

Speaking about the curriculum,it seems to be quite tough as it holds a lot of topics to be learned in a short period of time. Though it provides practical knowledge, it mainly goes in depth in theory as the teachers are forced by the University to complete teaching in a short span.The practical knowledge in my field made me more applicable in works related to that subject.
Course Curriculum Overview:
The course curriculum is up to date and the are having amole fund to set up modern labs as well as equipments for its practical knowledge. We have got timely funds from government in organising special seminars and workshops for better far of experiences.Around the course of 4 years we would have visited about 6 industries from manufacturing to application level. The campus placements are just ok as we won't find too many core electronics companies hiring and the knowledge from the course was spectacular.
