NIELIT Calicut offers a full-time M.Tech program of 2-year duration in 2 specializations namely Embedded Systems and Electronics Design Technology (EDT). The intake capacity for both streams is 18 seats each. The minimum eligibility requirement is to have a Bachelor's degree in engineering with 60% marks. Admission is based on a GATE score followed by counseling. The application mode is online.

NIELIT Calicut M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be qualified with one of the following:

For M.Tech Embedded Systems

• Electronics/ Electronics and Communication/ Electronics and Instrumentation.
• Electrical and Electronics.
• Applied Electronics and Instrumentation/ Instrumentation and Control.
• Computer Science/ Computer Science and Engineering.
• Information Technology.
• Biomedical Engineering/ Electronics and Biomedical Engineering/ Biomedical Instrumentation Engineering must be qualified in either of these.
• Valid GATE score in Electronics/ Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Computer Science/ IIT/ Biomedical engineering subjects must be there.

For M.Tech. Electronics Design Technology (EDT)

• Electronics/ Electronics and Communication Engineering.
• Electrical and Electronics.
• Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering/ Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering/ Instrumentation and Control Engineering.
• Electronics and Biomedical Engineering must have applied in either of these.
• Score must be Valid in GATE exam in Electronics/ Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Biomedical engineering subjects.
• The candidate shall be an Indian National.
• The candidate should have passed the B.Tech course or equivalent from an institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
• Candidates should have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the engineering degree examination. For SC/ ST candidates passing the engineering degree course is sufficient. For SEBC/ PWD candidates a minimum of 54% aggregate in the Engineering Degree examination is mandatory.
• Admission shall normally be restricted to those candidates who have valid GATE scores.
• Non-GATE candidates can also apply. They will be considered against the vacancies due to a lack of candidates with valid GATE scores.
• Candidates who have passed AMIE/ AMIETE Examination in Electronics and satisfying the following conditions are also eligible for admission.
• They must have a valid GATE score.
• A minimum aggregate of 55% in section B in AMIE/ AMIETE Examination.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in the field of specific specialization after taking the qualifying degree.
• A minimum mark of 55% in the AMIE/ AMIETE Examination.

The admission to this course is based on the following criteria given below. Filling and Submission of Application Form shall be completed in the given steps:

• Step 1 Registration Process: Registration with Name, Email id & Password
• Step 2 – Submission of Applicant’s Details: Updating Personal Details
• Selecting Post, Qualification, Experience Details (if any), and Exam Centre Preference
• Uploading of scanned photograph & signature along with relevant documents (as applicable)
• Step 3 –Payment: Payment of application fee has to be paid online. The eligibility criteria carefully before proceeding for registration, applicants are instructed to read. Applicants can check the ‘check box’ provided at the bottom of the form, to proceed to registration.
