My experience in NIELIT, Calicut.

Remarks :

NIELIT gives you a chance to think out of the box and priority on rational knowledge along with the theoretical aspects. College is good the management is decent. This is the college to choose for quality education.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course layout is totally satisfactory. It is designed to meet industrial standards. The course is divided into four semesters, in semester one we have to choose one elective course and in the second semester, you have to choose two elective courses. Last semester includes a master research project phase only.

Placement Experience :

The placement records have been consistent here 80- 90% of students get positioned every year. Previous year students got placed in companies like avench systems, Robert bosch etc. They provide industrial training and internships too.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee for me quite expensive. Total fees year wise for the first year is 1.39lakhs and for the second year is 1.3lakhs. You need to pay fee semester wise. Compared to other colleges it is costly but the facilities here are much better.

Campus Life :

Our college has activities all year round. This year in March there was a workshop on intellectual property rights by the IPR cell. The college is ethnically very diverse we celebrate almost every festivals.

Hostel Facilities :

They do have hostel facilities there are three hostels each for men and women. Total capacity is about 250. The women hostel have 3 seated rooms. hostel rate varies depending on bed occupancy if you need the bathroom attach monthly rent is Rs1600 per occupant.

Admission :

Apply for GATE exam first admission here will be based on GATE examination. You need to have a good score in GATE exam. You should have passed the B.tech course or equivalent from an institution approved by the AICTE. Minimum marks in the engineering degree for general category candidate is 60%.

Faculty :

The faculty team for my course have scientists and teachers with industrial experience. More emphasis is bestowed to logical exposure understanding than cramming of the syllabus and textbooks. They clarify every problem patiently.

The students become eligible for the campus placements in the 6th semester. The average students getting placed in the mechanical department are about 30%. My plan after completing my mechanical engineering degree is to go for masters in business administration

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum contains a vast area of nursing aspects and they include OSKI as a new component of the nursing curriculum which prepares as well enough to face the job interviews ahead. But the time limit is so short that we find it difficult to complete the syllabus on time. As the syallabus has changed to semester system we are expected to write exams more frequently but that is good as it helps as to improve our writing skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Architecture is a tough and time taking course, the syllabus fine in the first three years but later on it becomes hectic. Maybe the syllabus can be reduced and I feel that five years is too long for architecture degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course mainly because of the job opportunities. There is plenty of teaching and non-teaching staff in the college. All the teaching staff has Mastered nursing and all are very talented teachers. The teaching method is lecturing and av aids are also used by the teachers like projectors. The exams are conducted after the completion of each unit. It's an average tough exam to score good marks. The only problem is that exams will be conducted daily and the personal behavior of some staff may vary from person to person.

No campus placement is provided by college because it is a government college. After getting degree I planned to practice in Kerala high court and also wants to attempt judicial service examination. I also planned to join LLM at central University or in Canada. In Canada there are many opportunities for LLB graduates.
