Review of a average civil engineering student

Likes

Got good surroundings, canteen is good, lot of trees and nature, surrounded with cats and pets
Teachers are very professional and nice to everyone, assignments and lab work are done correctly, you get lot of practical work knowledge and site visits

Faculty:

Every department has enough teachers for every subject. In fact, there are two teachers for every subject. We are able to interact and ask questions and doubts easily whenever we want unless it is lunchtime. Office faculty is one of the best faculty where they have the students even if it means they have to work overtime

The campus is amezing there is lot of space
The canteen is amezing and there are also many food services nearby

Dislikes

The school bus are not proper there are only 3 working school bus's
Lab facility's are poor very old gadgets are used

Faculty:

The faculty is best they solve each and every doubt of students but some of them have very much attitude like they own the college so its frustrating when people like them comes in contact but overall the other peoples are best they are very helpful

The best college in Goa with some of the best teachers
Environment is very good as well as the campus

Dislikes

The infrastructure is old but they are trying to upgrade
Some teachers don't even know what they are teaching

Faculty:

Yeah the faculty students ratio is good and they help every student so the experience is good they help students who approch them it's most interactive every now and then so you can say they are quite approachable and friendly

Getting Into College

The location of our campus is at hilly area which is in Ponda, Farmagudi. The view over here is excellent and talking about the campus its beautiful as it is surrounded by nature . The size of all the department is descent and very great place too.
The second thing i like is that is our library which is the second largest library in goa after goa University. So any one who needs latest books or wants to prepare for the exams and even for those who love reading stuffs .

Dislikes

The first thing i dislike is the syllabus, you are provided with the old regular portion . No latest technologies are thought. Its a like studying one day before exam and passing and no knowledge stuff that u need to survive in this era of ai
Second thing is practical knowledge. No one cares about your practicals here, you are just given the problem statement and u have start implementing it. We are never thought why is it important or how to improve it.

Faculty:

The faculties in Gec are just after completing portion, no one cares if you are participating in any college events and performing well. They are just after attendance. Most of the faculties are well qualified and have good knowledge of the subject there's no much practical implementation. If you want to survive in todays market you have to learn a skill in your own and you will be good to go

The college campus is really good. GEC has a different vibe all together.

Dislikes

Some basic facilities in hostels were not good. Also sometimes street lights did not use to work.

Faculty:

Faculties were highly qualified and were actually good teachers who seemed to be interested in teaching. Teachers are friendly and helpful in nature. They will provide guidance if needed. Approach to teaching is modern with smart classes and all.

My college has best infrastructure in form of classrooms,labs etc
Great connect with companies which helps the students to get their placements.

Dislikes

My college needs to improve the sports and other activities.
my college needs to focus on good quality final year projects.

Faculty:

My college has best , humble and highly qualified teachers. They often interact one on one with each student having one specific mentor who keeps track of the students progress every semester. Teachers also help a lot in final year projects and getting internships.

Faculty:

Some teachers are very qualified and they have indepth knowledge about their core area and some teachers have superficial knowledge and they refer textbook while teaching, overall teachers are very cooperative

life at GEC

Placements are good for CS/IT , almost 70% people got placed even in this recession, packages range from 3-10Lpa
Less academic pressure so you can focus on ur other technical skills

Dislikes

Almost none opportunities for other than cs,it PPL wrt placements
Hostels are not that good , washrooms are not maintained properly being my reason not to stay at hostels

Faculty:

At my time they used to intake using gcet now it is through jee percentile , around 4000 ppl had given exam at my time , only maths and physics marks are considered not chemistry, would suggest go only for cs/it , faculty to student ratio might be around 1:15 (talking about mentors and students)

The college campus and the way they have maintained it
All the events and the support from our principles

Dislikes

College canteen was not good. There were worms in the food the was being served.
Some of the teaching staff is not at good in their profession

Faculty:

While many of the Teachers are very good and supportive,The faculty members of department are very much qualified. With each professors being holding a degree of P.H.D. They are very much helpful and interactive

Faculty:

The teachers are good and helpful. There are mentorship classes in which they help us to do good. There are remedial classes to help students who have got Back/KT.They also help you alot and are good.
