- The location of our campus is at hilly area which is in Ponda, Farmagudi. The view over here is excellent and talking about the campus its beautiful as it is surrounded by nature . The size of all the department is descent and very great place too.
- The second thing i like is that is our library which is the second largest library in goa after goa University. So any one who needs latest books or wants to prepare for the exams and even for those who love reading stuffs .
Dislikes
- The first thing i dislike is the syllabus, you are provided with the old regular portion . No latest technologies are thought. Its a like studying one day before exam and passing and no knowledge stuff that u need to survive in this era of ai
- Second thing is practical knowledge. No one cares about your practicals here, you are just given the problem statement and u have start implementing it. We are never thought why is it important or how to improve it.
Course Curriculum Overview :
There are many subjects which are really good to build your fundamentals as an engineer. bit there are many subjects which are just waste of time, even the students don't attend those lectures. But the core subjects like DSA , OS, OOPS, CN , OPERATING SYSTEMS are there in your curriculum and you are widely asked questions on these topics for the interview. This just for IT department
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Talking about the fees structure it is 25k per semester for me and 50k a year. Its so low because of the diamond jublee gift given the government of that year which was giving 50% discount. But originally the fees is between 40k to 50k per semester for the students. And many scholarship notification are provided by the government and the students available can apply for it. And talking about placement the students who are skilled get placement as the companies gives us the opportunity, but the student should be good at his skills.
Campus Life :
Campus life is really great, the people in gec are quite friendly and u can easily make friends. The seniors in our college are really helpfull , they guide us in proper way as they have experience.there are multiple clubs like dance ,drama, coding, astronomy and even there is NCC
Admission :
To enter in Gec one needs to get past through a entrance test thats GCET and if your rank is in 200 you are getting the IT and CS branch easily. The one who doesn't have any reservation should try to get his rank in top 500 to 600 , but for those who have reservations can get in with even a rank of 1000. But currently there will be no more GCET no the students will be taken on the basis of JEE mains exam.
Faculty :
The faculties in Gec are just after completing portion, no one cares if you are participating in any college events and performing well. They are just after attendance. Most of the faculties are well qualified and have good knowledge of the subject there's no much practical implementation. If you want to survive in todays market you have to learn a skill in your own and you will be good to go
