Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM), Kolkata maintains a good placement record over the years. Every year, a huge number of students participate in the placement drive & get hired. IEM Kolkata has released the 2024 placement data. According to the latest data, 8 of the students have been offered an SDE internship at Amazon. Followed by which they will be receiving an offer of INR 32 LPA. This is the highest number of students from a single college in West Bengal. Moreover, 44 of their current 4th year students were hired by TCS R&D with INR 7.5 LPA package and 6 of them have been offered a full-time role at GreyB Analytics with a package of INR 7 LPA.
Moreover, the NIRF 2024 report has also been released and as per the report, 767 UG students were placed during the 2023 placement drive. Further, 267 management PG students were placed, with a median package of INR 15 LPA. The participating batch comprised a total of 1200+ students. Among them, 127 students chose higher education, and the rest 1034 students were successfully placed. The number of placed students increased by about 8.7% from 944 students placed in 2022 to 1034 students placed in 2023. Reputed recruiters like TCS, Cognizant, Capgemini, Infosys, Wipro, and many more visited the campus during the 2024 placement drive.

During the 2023 Engineering placement drive at the IEM Kolkata campus, the participating batch comprised 877 UG students. Among them, 767 UG Engineering students were hired. 81 UG students opted out of the placement drive to pursue their higher studies. Whereas, for PG engineering courses, 41 students graduated, out of which 21 were hired and 15 opted for research programs. In the case of management, a total of 293 students graduated, of which 246 were placed and 31 opted for higher studies.
Additionally, among engineering and management courses, management programs have reported a higher average salary of INR 15 LPA, whereas, the engeering courses have reported an average salary of INR 4.8 LPA and INR 4.5 LPA.
