A full stack college review

Likes

The thing I liked the most is I didn't feel that I missed out something when it comes to course quality, the teachers were very supportive and lab were regular and also companies do come here so if u will study a bit u can get a job on campus
College also support cultural activities so every year I have seen my seniors organising fest plus I guess after every 3-4 month I have seen some department is organising their own small competition where u can participate in different games
The infrastructure of the college is decent and clean so you can have your fun time with your friends,we usually play basketball here so yeh u can do that

Dislikes

So the game room that we have here is a bit messy like I the condition of that room can be improved I feel like it's the fault of students cuz they don't keep the pieces of indoor game at the right place after playing
The area where the college is placed is not that great like there are lots of small cafe here but i don't know I just don't enjoy the food much
There is no boy hostel available inside the campus for engineering department ,boy hostel are outside the campus that's why I don't live in hostel but my friends do

Various companies recruiting from the campus , average and highest package being offered

So placement is decent company will start coming in the start of your 4th year and your training for campus drive will probably start in the mid of 5th semester so I will recommend you to take that traning seriously attend all the class u don't have to do much just don't bunk those classes and u will see the benefits of that in the start of your campus drive Companies like juspay,cognizant, litmindtree etc do come here Highest package cloud be 15lakh+ I'm not sure but the avg package were 6lakh, percentage of students are also great like 70% but every year this data changes due to recession and everything I'm planning for mtech

Internship and project opportunity in various organization

So I don't get paid internship but in each semester ardent used to come and give us training in different different area like machine learning, Android development, cybersecurity etc these were the few areas I got my training from ardent provided by my college the training duration were 2-3 week and 5hr every day ,also made small projects at the end of the training Plus college also provide us access to some courses available on Coursera which were paid but not for us, our college used to pay for those courses so we used to get free access

Events organized, and facilities available in the campus

So the annual fest held in March the big one in which some bengali band or singer also come to perform and technical fest like electrocution etc held in the month of August So u will see chem lab electrical lab and mathematical drawing room in your first year then there are OS lab where u will work on unix operating system and DBMS lab for SQL also ai lab and etc There are also chess and coding club plus cyber security club also so u can participate in those clubs U can participate in modelling, quiz,chess competition, football etc and represent your college

What is the total fees of the course and scholarships available in the campus?

So in the first sem I paid 80000 but after that I paid 42k-48k every semester I don't remember the exact fee but overall I'm gonna pay 4lakh during this 4 years of time it include everything like caution fee and every stuff,this 4 lakh is the final price but yehh I had to pay 1200 rs exam fee before every sem exam so that was extra money I had to pay.i'm not from West Bengal so I didn't get any scholarship but all the other friend of mine who is from WB applied for scholarship and they had to pay alot less amount than mine ,they never revealed it to me nd I was also not interested but yeh I will highly recommend you to apply for scholarship provided by the west bengal government. I also asked to my juniors about the current fee and they told me that fee has increased alot,I enrolled in 2021 so u can expect 5lakh for the 4year.

Students view on course curriculum and examination followed in the campus

So the course curriculum is pretty basic that you will see in almost every engineering college, yeah there could be some subjects which could be different for example in our college robotics was a subject but I have heard that some college don't have this subject in their cse curriculum so yehh you won't miss anything I would highly suggest my college to update the curriculum with some latest Stuff l can't pin point because I am no expert but yehh there is a Room for improvement, I would suggest to give extra focus on data structures and algorithms because those class problems were pretty basic. The frequency of exam were a bit fast in the starting years but then it get slow and it's actually good cuz In the end of your college year we get serious and now we have 6 month for a sem exam we can prepare for placement also but I remember In 14 month I was in 4th sem so that was a bit fast for us but it was also easy to catch up with but of hard work

Students view on faculties

The faculty students ratio is great and they are the nicest people of our college If you face any issue you will feel very confident to just go and talk about it. I would like to name one of the teacher sourish sir he is our mentor I met him in 2nd sem and then I saw him in my class in the 3rd year but he is a senior and very supportive teacher Our college conduct two unit test before the sem exam and the avg of both the test gets add up in sem result

How to get admission in the college and what sets the college stand out ?

So I gave my wbjee exam and according to my rank I applied for multiple college but then got Siliguri but it was too far from my house then in the 2nd round of councelling I got gnit and I heard they this college has decent placement history so I applied here for addmission

GNIT - A college that feels like home

Likes

The teachers are very nice and supportive. The college also have an anti ragging committee which is very helpful
The college provides a lot of opportunities not only in the educational field but also in extra curricular activities like sports , drama , modelling etc
The campus is very beautiful. It's consists of a lot of greenary. It's also a very good spot to spend time during break

Dislikes

The position of the fans are not nice and it becomes quite suffocating during summer

Admission:

I applied to Narula institute of technology but there I got a rejection because my wbjee cutoff was not fulfilled and the number of students were full . I am quite happy to be in Gnit college because it's environment is much better than the one I applied for .

HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT GNIT

Dislikes

Few rooms are smaller and congested which might be a problem to classes with higher strength of people.
the board would be transformed into a white board instead of a green chalk board.

Admission:

I got selected into Jis kalyani, Guru Nanak, Brainware, SNU and Adamas University. The reason I chose this particular college is by checking their environment and their placement rates particularly in Btech, Another major reason for choosing this particular college was it's distance from my home, leaving me with a time to self study without exhausting myself everyday. I did get a rejection from Narula Institute of Technology Agarpara, and that was because of the booked slots already and besides my Wbjee score weren't that good to start with. The admission process is very simple yet effective. Firstly I had to call the admission officials and they gave us a date and asked us to meet them with few document such as my 10th and 12th marksheets along with my jee and Wbjee scores. Once we showed them our marks, they evaluated based upon my merit of 12th subjects and then I got a direct admission into the college. one could even get into the college through counselling if their jee marks are standard enough. the college takes your 12th, jee and Wbjee scores to get accepted in it and the overall admission experience was quite nice.

Likes

The girl to boys ratio is almost same which is good for interactions and exchange of thoughts
The campus is amazing with 1 cricket ground, 1 football field, basketball court and a extra ground for volleyball and kabbadi.

Dislikes

Less water cooler, only one water cooler and that too on 4th floor,

Admission:

This college was in Kolkata which was good . I wanted to go to Lovely professional University but then there would be no one to take care of my parents, and my sisters are already abroad so there need to be some to look after them

I apply for cbit,mgit colleges and many more colleges in the emcet colleges list but I didn't get top emcet colleges because I didn't get enough rank in the emcet entrance exam test.i didn't get rejection from any college but in the emcet counselling i didn't get which college I want .The admission process is through emcet entrance exam who qualify they need to eligible for emcet counselling.Go through the emcet counselling and get admission in which college you want for qualifying emcet entrance exam there are cutoff which changes every year.

Likes

Ragging is strictly prohibited and punishable and every corner of the campus is CCTV protected.
College Campus is equipped with every essential commodities and every single type of technologies for every field.
Very big and excellent library open for all the college students.

Dislikes

Lesser Senior-Junior Interactions creating a communication gap among the students

Admission:

I chose GNIT for some solid reasons: I didn't got enough marks in either my boards or the entrance examinations so all the top colleges were offering me courses i didn't preffered doing as i always wanted to pursue Computer Science, and if i was being offered I would have to pay a management fees additional to the total course fee just for the admission which was exceeding my budgets. So GNIT was the best college for me according to me and my parents at the time as it was in my bdget and the college itself has a good reputation in case of infrastructure, campus placements, good learning and ragging free environment and many other things. At the sme time GNIT is only 5 killometers away from my house so it is a lot convinient for me as i don' have to travel too less compared to other colleges.

The thing i like is that the college campus is ragging free and the campus life is very nice all the students are friendly and well behaved

Direct admission is open in our college. Eligibility criteria are 12th pass with more than 45 marks, exams that are accepted in the college are through wbjee, jee Cutoffs are high, so the rank should be good to pass counseling overall. The admission process is smooth, and faculties are there to guide us with every detail.

Enough for my engineering period of life

Admission:

I chose GNIT as it was in my budget and also transportation from my home to the college ftred me pretty well. Now in order to take admission in GNIT you will can take admission through the entrance exam like jee mains or Wbjee. But if you have not taken any of these test then you can appear for the entrance test of GNIT which is of two rounds - first round us of a written MCQ test and the second one is an interview round and clearing these two rounds is not really a very hard things as very basic and easy question are there than compared to the level of the questions that are asked in jee or Wbjee. Apart from these you will also need to have a minimum of 60 percent marks in your class X and xii boards examinations.

The total fee of GNIT Kolkata Master of Technology Food Technology (Science) course is INR Two lacs thirty thousand. The institute has not released the further fee structure of the course in online mode.

Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in science stream from a recognized board with minimum 45% aggregate marks with mathematics. GNIT candidates need to appear for WBJEE/ JEE Main/ CEE-AMPAI for admission to the B.Tech program. The Institute has collaborated with AIT (Bangkok), Moscow Power Institute (Russia), E-Cam Lyon (France), and Tel Aviv Institute of Technology (Israel) for the Foreign Academic Exchange Program. GNIT offers Hostel facilities to its students for both male and female students.

Admission depends on JEE Main, CEE AMPI, WBJEE exam scores. Students applying for any UG courses must appear in the Entrance exam and score good marks. Candidates must have passed a UG degree with 50% marks from a recognized University.
