I was able to make into this college via WBJEE 2020 exam. It was my first attempt. I got at first AOT-CSE afterwards I got Heritage. From the sources and seniors I got positive reviews and gone for it. College admission process is simple. JEE scores, WBJEE scores and via management. Reservation for domicile students is also present.

I applied to plenty of state engineering colleges and only made it to UIT, BU which has awful facilities and a good ragging culture. So I opted out and went to a private college. Among private colleges, as far as I know, WB, IEM and Heritage are considered to be better. IEM's strict uniform code, zero campuses made me choose Heritage over IEM. The admission process is 1) Through West Bengal Joint counselling, which I went through, 2) Management Quota. Also, another reason why I picked Heritage over other private colleges is that it's fees is lower compared to other private colleges in west Bengal.

I have also applied in other states college like satyabhama of Chennai by giving the entrance and JEE mains for NIT and IIT and I have also give the webjee exam my score is quite good and and I have chosen this college over other colleges because of its number one college in the West Bengal and it have quite good campus comparison to others West Bengal colleges. My JEE score was not that good and my webjee score is quiet good so I prefer the college that is best comes with my score. You have to score good marks in entrance exam to get admission in heritage the eligibility to get enter in college is more than 60% in class 12 and below 7000 rank to get good branch in the college.

fees is very optimum otherwise private colleges for engineering are too costly. average package also matches with other private colleges taking triple the fees as i am paying in this college so the return on investment is pretty good here

The main aspect for me for choosing this college is the fee structure because the fees is very low as compared to other private colleges. For getting admission in this college one have to compete for wbjee exam held once in a year.

I chose the college over BIT SINDRI because I got the preferred branch in Heritage Institute Of Technology. Also heritage is located in urban place while bit located in rural place. Here in Kolkata one can develop his/ her personality at its best. I didn't got rejection in college,I just removed my counselling. If someone wants to join Heritage Institute Of Technology then they must give WBJEE exam and participate in counselling which occurs in 3 rounds
Before making a decision on what college you want to get admitted to there are some factors that must be kept in mind: the quality of academics and faculty, extra-curricular activities, the record of recent placements.
There are far better options such as IEM and Techno India. Heritage is an overhyped institute. Also, look for institutes that are not in Kolkata if you want better exposure.
The only deciding factor whether you will get a seat at Heritage Institute of Technology through WBJEE solely depends on your score JEE Mains scorecard.
Here is the first round cut-off 2021 for Heritage Institute of Technology.

This should give you an idea about the cutoff required at the Heritage Institute of Technology.
It will be hard to get any branch at Heritage Institute of Technology with a rank of 80176 in WBJEE. Here are the 2021 cutoff trends for Heritage.
Branch | WBJEE Cutoff |
Electronics & Communication Engineering | 7752 |
Computer Science & Engineering | 3214 |
Biotechnology | 14684 |
Chemical Engineering | 20546 |
Mechanical Engineering | 23694 |
Civil Engineering | 19809 |
Electrical Engineering | 10192 |
Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering | 13759 |
Information Technology | 4090 |
Computer Science & Business System | 7688 |
CSE (AI & Machine Learning) | 4597 |
CSE (Data Science) | 5331 |
It’s better if you start your preparation for next year by dropping a year. Aim for a rank below 10000. One of my friends took a year drop last year and jumped from 77000 ranks to below 8000. If he can do it, you can also do it. It is not impossible.
However, if you do not want to take a drop and anyhow want to take admission at Heritage then there is a management quota to help you out.
The cutoff varies from year to year. It is highlighted in the following data:
Course | General | SC | ST | TFW |
Computer Science Engineering | 349-2877 | 6740 | 8229 | 1095-3214 |
Chemical Engineering | 991-8959 | 12098 | 73158 | 4577-6116 |
Mechanical Engineering | 1267-7986 | 10548 | 38299 | 5132-6922 |
Civil Engineering | 1294-9790 | 13076 | 57285 | 6981-9740 |
Electronics & Communication Engineering | 1699-4960 | 8814 | 29889 | 3258-4618 |
Electrical Engineering | 2078-5980 | 11133 | 33361 | 5269-5470 |
Information Technology | 2900-3642 | 6894 | 39605 | 3467-3532 |
Applied Electronics and Instrumentation | 4427-8330 | 12505 | 75981 | 5404-7323 |
Biotechnology | 4928-12233 | 13245 | - | 7218-8923 |
Cutoffs also depend on the streams you want to pursue.
Both the choices are decent so you can choose either. But, as I don't know exactly which branch of DSU are you asking about; but if you are talking about DSU (Kumar swami layout) then go for it; and if not NHCE is better.
And let me clear that, 100% placements mean there are no specifications of package you will be given. You might get a company to work with a 1 LPA salary or a 12 LPA salary depends on your caliber and knowledge.
If you're wondering about your chances of getting into Heritage Institute of Technology or Techno India Salt Lake with a WBJEE rank of 9,506 in the CSE branch, here are some important points to consider:
In conclusion, if you have a WBJEE rank of 9,506 in the CSE branch, then you have a good chance of getting into Heritage Institute of Technology or Techno India Salt Lake. While there are no guarantees when it comes to placements, both of these institutions have good reputations in this area, particularly for CSE students. To increase your chances of getting a good job after graduation, you should focus on developing a well-rounded set of skills and experiences, and start networking early on in your college career.
With your rank, it might be not possible to get CSE at the Heritage Institute of Technology. WBJEE Cut off for 2021 closed at 3198 for All-India Quota. Except for CSE, you can get any other branch at HIT or you can wait for further rounds.
Before opting for Heritage, you must know that the fee structure is quite high at the institute. Even if you are financially stable, it might not be a good idea to go there. The academic curriculum is outdated and the environment is not appropriate for engineering.
You will see rich kids joining the college, fashion parades, luxurious cars and etc. There is nothing as such engineering at HIT but only fun. This lavishness is all thriving in the city where there are majorly people who are striving for a job being in their thirties only.
The previous year's TFW cut-off ranks for Heritage Institute of Technology are listed below.
Course | TFW cut-off Rank |
Chemical Engineering | 15095-16758 |
Computer Science Engineering | - |
Applied Electronics and Instrumentation | 10285-16513 |
Electrical Engineering | 5957-7002 |
Electronics & Communication Engineering | 3545-7124 |
Mechanical Engineering | 8254-8974 |
Civil Engineering | - |
As per the above table, you can hold any stream of your interest. In any case, if you fail to obtain the preferred stream, you can work hard during the first two semesters and change to your choice of stream. For branch change, you will need to have grades above 8.5.
Here are the cutoff trends for CSE at Heritage Institute of Technology.
Year | Cutoff by rank (WBJEE) |
2019 | 2877 |
2020 | 2532 |
2021 | 2438 |
One of my friends got admission to CSE at Heritage in 2017. He got something like 72 to 74 marks in WBJEE 2017 and he got a rank of 5975.
So, scoring 80 to 84 marks will be enough for you to get the CSE branch of the Heritage Institute of Technology. But the cutoff marks always depend on the toughness of the paper and the quality of the batch appearing for WBJEE.
You can check the complete merit list on site for more details.
With a rank of 3870, your prospects of receiving CSE at Heritage are very good. According to the 2021 cutoff trends, the required cutoff for the branch was 3214.
If you have got ECE in the first round of counseling there is no risk entering into the 2nd round as you will not lose your allocated seat. Additionally, you cannot lock your seat in the first round. This option is available only after the second round of counseling.
The bottom line is that once you've been allocated a college and a major, it can’t be taken away. It will only be upgraded if someone above you does not enroll in the college or the course to which they have been assigned. CSE is available and is simple to obtain. Also, I believe there is no risk factor; therefore, you may keep your seat and proceed to the second round of counseling.
