The course curriculum don't need any improvement , it's good as it is now The curriculum includes many practical work and teaches alot about how to tackle real world. The exam timing is of 2 hours for a 60 marks paper and 30mins for 10 marks surprise test so according to me it is sufficient.

The syllabus is not very much and also the teaching methods of teaches is very good they complete their syllabus before time and help us for revision. Exams are not very tough if we attend the classes then it is easy to score good marks .

I would rate it 9/10. Since I was good in computers so I wanted to do Cs core or IT. When I saw the infrastructure and placements and faculty and everything , i really became a fan of this college and also got the course therefore took it. You need to be good in coding and practice as much you can. Your physics , maths must be strong and u should always try to improve.

I was interested in circuital branches so I chose the course of Instrumentation Engineering. The curriculum of the department organises different extra courses for practical knowledge which will help the student for knowledge in the Industry. The areas of improvement are modern technologies and automation systems that need to be included in the course. The difficulty level of the exams are moderate and one can easily score good if they work hard a little bit.

I was driven to choose this course just because of my love for computer. The course teaches us with real world problems how to deal with them. There is still a chance to imporve the skill aspect of the course. The exams are much frequently taken which disallows the students to improve their skills.

Course curriculum is up to date with latest trends. The syllabus changes every year as per the market needs, there is sufficient time between the course and exams, which makes it less hectic, AI and ML is included in the course.

CSE is a very highly demanded course in day today's world and coming here I got to know why is it so. It's a very tough course and needs regular practice to score well and get knowledge. It also gives a very high opportunity for placement as I have mentioned it's the most demanding course compared to all the courses available. The exams are on a regular basis. The teacher conducts 4 surprise tests in between 6 months of the semester and at the end, we have our semester examination which is tough, to be honest. People need to work really to get pass every subject.

As this college is a autonomous college in west bengal, his college provides you it's own syllabus which is best to help students to learn various things and provides practical 5 times in a week which proves that the college is practical based.

The curriculum goes as designed by AICTE. My course is Data Science which is relatively new, still the course structure is pretty well planned. Few subjects taught in the first year are of no use and I have no idea why a student enrolled in a computer science branch would study mechanical or chemistry but that's how AICTE has designed the structure and the college follows it well most of which js relevant to tbe course
Heritage is a very good institute if pursuing CSE is your goal. If we talk about the ranking of the private institutes in West Bengal, then IEM (Institute of Engineering and Management) is the best in the state, followed by Heritage Institute of Technology. Techno India Salt Lake is third in the ranking.
Categories | CSE at Heritage Institute of Technology |
Course Fee | 4.04 lakh |
Placement Percentage | 80-90% |
Highest CTC | 24 LPA |
Average CTC | 16 LPA |
The companies that visit the institute are Microsoft, Amazon, Intel, Capgemini, Oracle, etc. TCS is the biggest recruiter of students graduating from Heritage.
Government College of Engineering and Leather Technology (GCELT) is cheaper than Heritage Institute of Technology because it is a government institute.
Heritage Institute of Technology has better infrastructure, better labs, and everything else. GCELT has slightly lower levels of infrastructure but the teaching methodology and the quality of lectures delivered by the professors are almost similar at both the institutes.
What makes GCELT apart from Heritage Institute of Technology is its freedom which you can utilize in your spare time on activities you enjoy. It does not have any facility to give you a club like a robotics club. But you can start on your own and there is no restriction on the same. The professors will help you in every way possible.
You can succeed at either of the institutes if you work hard. If you have financial constraints, join GCELT. If you want good infrastructure join the Heritage Institute of Technology.
To change the stream from ECE to CSE, having an SGPA of 8.5 or more at the end of the first year is mandatory. It goes without saying that you will have to focus on your academics and try to maintain regular attendance. Complete your lab assignments and you can easily achieve an SGPA of 8.5 or even more.
Heritage Institute is now an autonomous institute so all the scores are in the hands of the faculty. The scoring rate has seen a slight decrease since the time it was under WBUT.
The amount keeps changing every year. There is no fixed amount.
Nowadays, the college follows a system of seat-booking whereby you can book a seat if you are not quite sure about your admission to any college. You will have to pay a certain amount specified by the college and your seat will be booked in the stream that you want to opt for if you join the college.
The system is a little different and it is not exactly like the management quota in other colleges. The amount that you have to pay depends on which branch you want to opt for. The more demanding the branch, the more the amount of donation. For example, branches like Computer Science or Electronics are charged more than branches like Applied Instrumentation or Biotechnology.
I would recommend you book a seat and later decide whether you want to join or not. This will cost you less. But, you will have to decide within a short span of time otherwise the authority will move the list and give admission to a lower-ranked individual.
Heritage would be far better for your career than B.P.Poddar, in terms of educational facilities and campus infrastructure. The environment is good and the members of the faculty are helpful and nice.
I have visited both of these colleges and am familiar with them. If you want to have a fantastic college experience, Heritage would prove to be the best choice for you.
It could be a bit pricey if you use Management Quota. However, HIT offers good placement for CSE. In the recent placement drive, the average CTC offered at the institute was 4 LPA and the highest was 16 LPA.
If you're considering pursuing an IT course at Heritage, you may have heard some negative feedback about the program. While it's true that IT may not be the strongest option at Heritage, there are still some reasons why it might be the best choice for you. Here are some points to consider:
If you're still unsure whether IT at Heritage is the right choice for you, here are some things to keep in mind:
Ultimately, the decision to pursue an IT degree at Heritage is a personal one that depends on your individual circumstances and goals. While it may not be the best option for everyone, it could be a viable choice for those who are interested in exploring different areas of computer science or transferring to another program after the first year. Just remember to do your research and weigh your options carefully before making a final decision.
Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) is a very popular engineering institute and if you are interested in pursuing Chemical engineering then you should definitely take admission in this college.
Categories | Chemical Engineering at HIT | CSE at Techno India |
Course Fee | 3.95 lakh | 6.32 lakh |
Highest CTC | 12-15 LPA | 15-20 LPA |
Average CTC | 5-6 LPA | 7-8 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | GlaxoSmithKline, Bengal Chemicals, etc. | Wipro, Infosys, Dell, HP, etc. |
Hence, both the colleges are very good with excellent placements and academics and it completely depends on your interests in which branch you would like to study and build your career.
Both colleges are on par with one other in terms of faculty and academics. Both, Haldia Institute of Technology and Heritage Institute of Technology are approved by AICTE and private universities located in West Bengal. But if you are passionate about chemical engineering, aim for IITs.
Both colleges offer Bachelors in Technology in Chemical Engineering. Discussed below are some details about the Chemical Engineering courses offered by these two institutes.

About 7-8 years ago, all or most of the current faculty of the Heritage Institute of Technology used to be part of the Haldia institute of technology. So there is no big difference in the degrees offered by these two institutes. You only get different degree certificates from HIT and MAKAUT.
Above all, it is suggested to prepare for JEE so that you can choose a better or equivalent institute to IIT. Because college name matters.
It's amazing that you're a HITK student, my brother was one too and his friend and his colleague's daughter as well. Coming back to your question, yes, you can change your stream in the first year.
Build a CGPA of 8.5 or above to apply. You will become eligible for application. You can then easily apply for a change of stream.
You may get disappointed when the administration tells you that the seat will be allotted on the basis of availability. The higher your score, the greater are the chances- they will hint at this as well, but don't lose hope because they will have a seat for you.
Your question can be based on whether or not you are strictly capable of maintaining a YGPA above 8.5 following the first year.
It is suggested that you maintain a YGPA between 8.75 to more than 9 so as to secure the chance of branch change. You can undeniably ace the same with about 5 weeks of definite effort before the semester exams.
