I chose this course for my personal interest as I liked bioinformatics a lot. The course curriculum is huge but informative and enjoyable and the faculty members are so good and for them, the course gets much easier to understand. Term exam, for the first sem - at 4 months, 2nd sem - at 3 months and 3rd sem onwards - at 6 months. Though the time is less for 1st Yr, the teachers are so much help that it becomes easier to appear in the exams.

I choose this course as I like genetically modified organisms and I want to research on it. The faculty members of the biotechnology department are very good they are very helpful and friendly. Other faculty members are also good. The students are good and friendly. There are so many sir and madam who have Ph.D. They teach us very sincerely. The term exam is held under 6 months after starting the semester. No, it is not difficult to pass the exam but not too easy if he read then he passed.

I like the course and this course has a very vast field in academics as well as in jobs. The faculty-student ratio is perfect. Like they assign every faculty for 15 students. All faculties are highly educated. Most of them teach very well and everyone has a unique method. The exam should happen after 4.5 months. They notify every student for 1 month. The difficulty is pretty moderate, which means if you understand the module then you'll pass.
I have chosen biotechnology. Because I have loads of interest in this field. Students in this course are comparatively less than that in cs, ece, etc. because it is an emerging field now. This year we have got around 90 students in our batch. The teaching method is good, teachers are very interactive with students and make them learn and not just nag. We have internals before semester exams. But teachers keep taking class tests, viva, etc.
Course curriculum is comprehensive and well updated. Many opportunities for industrial exposure is provided, mostly through affiliation to Yi YUVA. Faculty take care to clear doubts, are very approachable and friendly.Faculty very experienced. The faculty from Department of Physics are especially well-versed in their subject and painstakingly explain concepts and make them easier to understand.
The course is well updated and syllabus is reviewed every year. The subject bioinformatics is updated every semester so that we get proper knowledge of biological data science. The faculties are overall great and very interactive. The notable mention includes- RG sir, NKJ Sir, Km mam, RC mam, etc.
Very updated curriculum and the academics is given highest priority. Faculties are friendly and supportive, always ready to guide you. Industrial exposure is provided to related fields like civil engineering and mechanical engineering.
Though the college is autonomous so syllabus is well organized which is helpful for competitive exams also.Faculties are experienced and qualified and most of them are helpful. There are 8semesters and in each semester you have to learn different courses.
Every year the students of this college get very good results in GATE examination from Biotechnology. Exam syllabus is very updated. Every year final year students are given an industrial visit. The faculty is very helpful, whether in college or after college,if there is any need, they are by the side of the students, they give PDFs of various useful books to the students by email.
Actually our syllabus totally higher education oriented and obviously the teachers are very experienced and well educated in their field and they always try their best to ready us. And our quotations are also very technical.
Biotechnology is one of the oldest branches in Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata. The professors are really good and highly qualified and they will help you in conducting your research programs with great guidance from them.
Many of the faculty at the department have good names in their area of specialization and if you can get guidance from them they will help you in getting good projects and recommendations from them. While doing PhDs or master’s from any university will help you a lot.

Both UEM and Heritage Institute of Technology are reputed colleges in Kolkata and offer decent academics and placement opportunities for BTech in Biotechnology. As for which institute is better, you should be the one to decide that.
The faculty and the labs are excellent at Biotechnology Department. Placements are also good. You will find many students in this department who are really very serious and good in studies ie. better than many students of ECE and CSE.
Most probably the all-department topper in our first semester was from the Biotech department. You may take it if you are interested in this subject.
