Cornell University Ph.D Economics Fees, Eligibility, Admission & Deadlines

Applicants must have at least a four-year undergraduate degree, or a three-year degree plus a post-graduate diploma.

• The first-semester courses presume a thorough knowledge of microeconomics at the level of a rigorous treatment of undergraduate intermediate theory.
• More economics background is preferred, but an economics major is not required.

• Resume/CV - This provides a summary of a student's experience and skills.
• Unofficial Transcripts of the undergraduate record- The transcrips provided by the recognized Institution.
• Statement of marks - The marks statement provided by the education board.
• Academic Statement of Purpose – Describe (within 1000 words) the substantive research questions you are interested in pursuing during your graduate studies, and explain how our program would help you achieve your intellectual goals.
• Letter of Recommendation (3) - This shows who recommended the student to pursue the degree.
• Personal statement of interest – Please describe (within 1000 words) how your personal background and experiences influenced your decision to pursue a graduate degree.
• Financial Documentation - The Proof that shows the financial background of the student.
• English Language Requirement - This shows the test score of English Proficiency Exams such as IELTS, TOFEL, PTE, etc.
• GRE general test is required; GRE subject is not required.
• Finalists may be invited for a Zoom interview.
