- Easy commute, the bus travel is super efficient
Dislikes
- Hard to get exposure since a majority Indian population means less exposure to people from other countries & cultures
- The town itself can get a little lonely and not much to do here.
- Once you get work on campus, it’s good but it’s difficult to get in there.
Campus Life
- It’s a huge campus. With every facility you can possibly need, ranging from a gym to running tracks to a library to a clinic & a food court. No complaints there.
- Uptown campus is amazing, a lot of places to explore. Includes nature too. A huge number of clubs to be a part of, including an Indian student organisation, running club, photography club, and hiking/trekking club.

- It is really cold here.

Campus Life
- Planned on finding off-campus accommodation; searched through Telegram and WhatsApp SUNY Albany student groups, then asked among seniors.
- This ranges from anywhere between 400 to 800 bucks a month, depending on shared utilities: water, electricity, heat were inclusive. My accommodation was approximately 1.5 miles off-campus, travel taking anything up to 10 to 15 minutes using a bus.
- The biggest challenge, being an international student, was understanding lease agreements, but early planning and seniors' help got me a good place.
- Most Indian students stay around Western Avenue or Washington Avenue; these are quite popular for affordability and convenience
Fees
- The total fee for a graduate student is 35 lakhs in rupees and 33 thousand in dollars.
- Based on your previous degree score you will get a scholarship of 2500 dollars per semester.
- And you can review it on the application website by accepting or rejecting the offer.
- Transportation is free of cost of students studying at university at albany. You just need to swipe your id card in the bus.

Campus Life
- My university had 2 campuses. One was the uptown and the other was the downtown campus. Uptown campus was located at Collins Circle, and the other was on N Lake Avenue, Albany.
- Both the campuses had libraries, medical services, and sports facilities.
Fees
- $1000 for every credit. We were allowed to enrol in 18 credits for a semester. The maximum limit of the fees was $12000 and the minimum was $9000, as the minimum credits for international students were 9.
- I personally found the campus housing pretty expensive; hence, I rented an apartment off campus.
- My rent was $350 and groceries and my utility bill were paid separately. Monthly, my expense was $500.

- The first reason was the course that explores both Digital Forensics and Cyber Security. And the university will allow us to complete masters degree in a year If I'm willing to. And the professors here in Cyber Security has greater experience and knowledge in the topics I'm interested in. Few topics like Incident Response, Penetration Testing, Risk Analysis, Computer Forensics etc.
- This university is known for its excellence in research facilities. The location was very well suited to find great opportunities. Major cities like New York city, Boston,
- Buffalo are within 3 hours distance so finding a good company to get an internship and job was much easier. The university also has great infrastructure and facilities that anything I wanted to learn or create, the required help is already present in terms of faculty, staff and labs.
Overview
I would say that this university is good in terms of supporting students in achieving their goals and dreams. The university's campus features modern facilities, research centers, and a diverse student body. It is committed to providing students with a well-rounded education, fostering critical thinking, and preparing them for successful careers and contributions to society. The University at Albany is recognized for its research initiatives and contributions to various academic fields.
Campus Life
Campus life and infrastructure are really good. Being an international student, I always had something going on in campus that I wanted to stay there for most of the time. Not only events, the research facilities, labs and people around are very friendly. There are few times the facilities were out of order such as free printouts for graduate students then we have to pay for the printouts. Apart from that I haven't found anything concerning. We will be having free food somewhere or the other places in the campus. For spring, the sport events are limited but I used to involve in other activities which used to substitute them.

- I am a NYS resident and the program was good. Thus, I would get a degree without breaking the bank.
- University at Albany, SUNY is a diverse university which has students from various countries. Thus, one can expect to work with students from various different backgrounds. This brings about varying point of views especially into class discussions.
Dislikes
- Sometimes, there is lack of planning in terms of classes and advisor guidance. I chose a class for this semester about 2-3 months ago and had to switch classes in the 1st week of the semester due to redundancy in subject selection.
Overview
Getting placements is based on how much work you are willing to put into landing a job. The college can help you via career fairs and opportunities to get the employer to the college so that you can have a chance to network, but at the end of the day, it is completely dependent on you whether you land a job or not.
Campus Life
Campus life is eminent with lots of clubs and activities. I don't really have time to attend with my classes and part time work. There are infrastructure events and extracurricular activities about which every student is emailed weekly.
Likes
- I chose the university because the environment and Academic standards was too good.
Overview
My overall experience in my university is very good and lovely. My experience in the university is just so lovely and educating that I don't even want to leave university. My friends in the university have always been good and kind to me.
Campus Life
The campus life has been good and superb, all activities go smoothly and ok.
Overview
The reputation was good, and the cost of living was also cheap. I also opted for this college because they offered financial aid and grants. That was what swayed me to choose here the most. I'm from California so I didn't want to move all the way to New York but education was my priority.
Fees
I use financial aid to pay for all fees and other charges. So I'm not sure exactly how it's structured.
