- Being Ivy League, Cornell Tech is highly selective (less than 8% acceptance rate) as it is an NYC campus in which they have shifted Tech-MBA, CS, Information Systems, and Operation research from the Ithaca campus,
- The biggest advantage of Cornell Tech is a smaller intake (40-60) and more diversity.,
- At Cornell Tech, we are free to take any courses in any domain! I have taken many CS courses along with MBA courses in a semester.,
- Needless to say, Cornell University tuition fees is $65,000 for 1 year, so the total master's tuition costs around $130,000 but there are good ranges of scholarships provided.
Overview:
I chose Cornell over other admits of Columbia University, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Washington and University of Maryland College Park as Cornell has these advantages: 1. A good amount of merit-based scholarship granted 2. Cornell Tech's location is in NYC 3. The curriculum is flexible and dynamic for students 4. Cornell Tech is home to hundreds of start-ups and established businesses with a wide range of opportunities 5. Meta, Bloomberg, Verizon, and Tata centres are present in the campus where students study, work and get exposed to good work of research in these tech-giants. 6. Being selective in students and smaller intake builds the best Cornell Tech alumni network in all domains of technology, robotics, business and entrepreneurship.
Fees:
For 2 year program, it is $130,000 but scholarships provide great relief for this exuberant number.
Overview:
Program ranked in top 10 in the US. Ivy league school. Shorter duration of masters program. Best Engineering school in the Ivy league.
Fees:
33000 USD per semester
Overview:
More credits/focus assigned to research. At least a third of the total credits for graduation were assigned for research which was my primary area of interest.
Fees:
$29,000 per year.
Overview:
1. Small cohort 2. Brand name 3. One of the best program I wanted to pursue.
Fees:
$30,000 per semester which is $60,000 for MEM.
Overview:
Prestige and ranking(overall and department). It is an Ivy school and ranked in the top 10 in the US for my program.
Fees:
$60000 is the program fee.
Overview:
I ended up choosing Cornell mainly due to two Professors here (Jie Shan and Peter McMahon). Their research interests aligned really well with mine. Another, although minor, factor that affected my decision was the availability of many hiking trails in Ithaca. I really enjoy trekking and hiking, so that was a major plus.
Fees:
The Ph.D program in physics costs a total of $75,000 per year (including the stipend, health insurance, etc.). The tuition alone is about $30,000. Although, almost no one ever pays for their doctorate education. You're almost always offered a fellowship, TAship, or RAship.
Overview:
A great network to be able to be successful in the future, allows me to extensively train for the career I want. Has a good social climate to be able to enjoy myself when I need a break from the tough work.
Fees:
They charge over $30,000 but provide very good financial aid. They help with tuition. Require expenses to be paid for.
Overview:
It's the leading program in this field and I couldn't find it anywhere else. Very detailed and good instruction at Cornell's ILR School in Ithaca, NY about 4 hours from New York City. There are plenty of resources.
Fees:
They charge a very large amount of money for tuition. The tuition is very expensive and perhaps unaffordable. They charge more money for tuition than most other schools, especially New York State schools.
Overview:
Diverse fields of research, university reputation, student clubs, athletics
Campus Life:
Library top-notch, many cultural organizations, many Indian students, WiFi excellent, world class research equipment
