Overview:

I chose Cornell over other admits of Columbia University, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Washington and University of Maryland College Park as Cornell has these advantages: 1. A good amount of merit-based scholarship granted 2. Cornell Tech's location is in NYC 3. The curriculum is flexible and dynamic for students 4. Cornell Tech is home to hundreds of start-ups and established businesses with a wide range of opportunities 5. Meta, Bloomberg, Verizon, and Tata centres are present in the campus where students study, work and get exposed to good work of research in these tech-giants. 6. Being selective in students and smaller intake builds the best Cornell Tech alumni network in all domains of technology, robotics, business and entrepreneurship.

Fees:

For 2 year program, it is $130,000 but scholarships provide great relief for this exuberant number.

MS
7.7 /10

Overview:

I ended up choosing Cornell mainly due to two Professors here (Jie Shan and Peter McMahon). Their research interests aligned really well with mine. Another, although minor, factor that affected my decision was the availability of many hiking trails in Ithaca. I really enjoy trekking and hiking, so that was a major plus.

Fees:

The Ph.D program in physics costs a total of $75,000 per year (including the stipend, health insurance, etc.). The tuition alone is about $30,000. Although, almost no one ever pays for their doctorate education. You're almost always offered a fellowship, TAship, or RAship.

Overview:

A great network to be able to be successful in the future, allows me to extensively train for the career I want. Has a good social climate to be able to enjoy myself when I need a break from the tough work.

They charge over $30,000 but provide very good financial aid. They help with tuition. Require expenses to be paid for.

Overview:

It's the leading program in this field and I couldn't find it anywhere else. Very detailed and good instruction at Cornell's ILR School in Ithaca, NY about 4 hours from New York City. There are plenty of resources.

Fees:

They charge a very large amount of money for tuition. The tuition is very expensive and perhaps unaffordable. They charge more money for tuition than most other schools, especially New York State schools.

Cornell University scholarships are mainly offered as need-based financial aid. The financial aid in Cornell University includes Cornell grants and endowed scholarships, Pell grants, work study, and zero or low student loans depending on your family income.  For more information, you can check Cornell University Scholarships.

Can I get into an ivy with my gre of 158 q and 147 v along with IELTS of 8 ?
K
Karan Gupta

It is difficult to say for certain whether you can get into an Ivy League school with a GRE score of 158 Q, 147 V, and an IELTS score of 8. Ivy League schools are highly competitive, and they consider many factors in their admissions decisions, including your GPA, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation. However, your GRE scores are on the lower end for Ivy League schools. The average GRE score for entering students at Ivy League schools is typically around 165-170.  Your IELTS score of 8 is good, as most Ivy League schools require a minimum score of 7.
