More practical based course, focuses on experience rather than cramming information. the curriculum prepares you perfectly to challenge real world problems. the only improvement can be expected in faculty behaviour. exams are held every two weeks, which is frequent but prepares you well.

I had a passion for cars and automobile so I chose automobile engineering. Curriculum is planned in a good but slow order. What subject that are taught in 3rd year should be taught in second year itself. For the course curriculum hands on knowledge and practical knowledge should be increased. Total of 4 exams are conducted including main university exam. 3 class test after every month is conducted and the marks are added in internal evaluation.

The Faculty members were well-educated and helpful. Semester exams were tough. The pass percentage was 50%. A lot of practical exams were conducted in this college. The course curriculum was relevant to make students ready for the industry.
The cirriculum is set up in a good way but the faculty is not up to the mark to do the job. They are basically Ex-SRMITE's with master's degree from the institute themselves, with specialisation in automobile or mechanical engineering. The teaching was done from a bunch of pre-made presentations and there were incomplete explanations presented in form of a lecture.
I chose Automobile engineering because I always wanted to build cars and decided to become an automobile engineer at a very young age. Every class had a maximum of 50 students with 7-8 faculties depending upon the number of subjects. Most of the facilities had PhDs in their respective field and all had different teaching methods which were all very effective. We had 3 theory internals (Cycle tests 1,2&3) in a span of 3 months, Assignments and surprise tests for every subject and internal laboratory exams for laboratory subjects. The cycle tests, assignments and surprise tests combined constituted 50% marks. Then we had the semester laboratory exams followed by the semester theory exams which contained the rest 50% of the marks. After the exams, the internal and external marks were added and averaged. 50% of that was our passing marks.
I was so much interested in automobiles so I chose automobile engineering for my career. The teachers here are qualified and up to mark. The faculty-student ratio is 1:13. Their teaching methods are very good. Each semester has three cycle tests and one final semester exam.
Fees are hiked for admission every year almost. Hostel fee also keeps increasing by 10-15kThere are lots of scholarship options for state toppers and board toppers etc. After joining, you can get academic scholarship for good performance. I am not aware of the financial assistance scene but I'm sure its there on the website. I got placed in Faurecia Bengaluru stipend 15k. In my year, pandemic year, Automobile had Varroc, Faurecia, Ford, Fiat and few others. To register for placements you need to pay 6000 which is not refunded if you don't get placed though lol. Most students get into mass recruitment. In our time some Automotive core companies came to hire only CSE guys. So yeah overall the placement scene is not very good. Some 6-7 students got in core. Rest mass recruitment or nothing at all.
The curriculum was a little outdated and the faculties are a little outdated too. But a young set of faculties have now joined with more current industry knowledge which ia surely being helpful for people opting the course now. also the presence of a world class lab sure does help with the studies
My annual fees was 3 lacs per annum. Mode of payment was DD. There was no other additional fees. Yes the college provided transparency in the fee breakdown. That was expensive as compared to other colleges but in India Private colleges with big infrastructure has the same fees structure.
It's expensive as compared to other private engineering colleges. Tuition fees are around 2 lakhs per year in college which makes it one of the most expensive universities. In addition, hostels are also costlier and go up to 1.7 lakhs per year. This is one of the drawbacks when you compared SRM and VIT.
