Admissions to NIT/IIT are through JOSAA counselling based on JEE exam scores. Eligibility requires 75% in Class 12th with PCM, or 65% for SC/ST. M.Tech admissions are through GATE scores. The JEE Mains score is out of 360, with entry ranks usually between 6500 to 13000. Faculty is highly qualified, mostly with PhDs and over 10 years' experience. There's a 75% attendance requirement. The well-structured curriculum includes mid-semester exams (30 marks), end-semester exams (50 marks), and class participation (20 marks).
Fees for a 4-year program total approximately INR 6.76 Lacs. Semester fee varies by income, with exemptions for SC/ST and low-income families. Numerous scholarships are available, especially for low-income and SC/ST categories. Placements are strong, with over 90% in top branches like CSE. The highest package was 1.2 crore INR by Amazon, and the average for CSE is 16-17 LPA. Over 110 companies, including Microsoft and Google, participate in placements.
Internships starting from the 5th semester offer stipends between 10,000 to 1.25 lakh INR per month. The overall placement rate is 85-95%.
