As you all know that the fees of the NL U's are very high it costs around 2.5 lakh per year for college and hostel only and if a student wants to study other courses and anything then it will cost more. the college provides merit cum means scholarship, OBC scholarship, and one more scholarship that is MP government scholarship for the medhavi students.
Each year fee including teaching and hostel fees for B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) students is Rs. 2.4 Lakh which amounts to approximately Rs.12.5 Lakh for five years. The fee increases by just Rs 5000 each year. The batch of 2021 that recently graduated secured 48 jobs in various law firms such as Khaitan, Trilegal, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Jyoti Sagar Associates, L&L Partners, Sharaf & Partners etc.
The fees at various National law Universities ranges from 2.3 lakh/ year to 2.8 Lakh/ year. However there are several scholarships based on both means as well as merit. Several College also offers scholarships to 1-3 students based on their yearly result. However, I believe that in order to make legal education more inclusive and accessible to all, there's still a wide scope for improvement.
There is a hike of 20000 rupees each year. I receive the MP Chief Minister Meritorious Students Scholarship through which i use to get complete refund of my college fees at the end of the each academic year.
Loan is available and college has tie up with many banks for that purpose. And scholarship is given some students on need basis. The criteria for that is set by state government and Central government.
In this case i blamed the administration of the college because they are not active at all. When ever we go for asking about scholarship, they said that there is no news or update about any information. But we can apply for state st scholarship.
Oriental Bank of Commerce recognises NLIU as a grade A institution and as a consequence offers collateral free loans at a low interest rate for the entire duration of the course. Additionally expenses to buy a laptop are also covered.
No such facilities are provided by our college for loan to students. However certain scholarship are provided by college for scoring the highest cgpa over five years along with medals. Also scholarship is provided by govt to reserved category students.
No scholarships were instituted back then, except the ones that can be availed through UGC or government.
In respect of scholarships there are some offered by the colleges. However, as much as I remember, at out times it was mainly for the reserved class candidates.
