NLIU maintains a good placement record during its placement drive every year. As per the NLIU Bhopal NIRF 2024 Report published on the university’s official website, the placement for Batch 2023 has been concluded. A total of 45 students pursuing BA LLB (Hons) / B.Sc LLB (Hons) (UG – 5 Year) and 18 LLM students were placed. The median package for BA LLB (Hons) / B.Sc LLB (Hons) was recorded at INR 16 LPA, LLM (PG 1 Year) at INR 6 LPA and PG 2 Years i.e., M.S in Cyber Law and Information Security (MCLIS) stood at INR 8.50 LPA.
The median package offered to BA LLB (Hons) / B.Sc LLB (Hons) was reduced by 11.111% compared to the previous year, while the median package offered to MCLIS has been increased by 54.54% in 2023. Campus placement begins in the first semester of the fourth year, Khaitan, Trilrgel, Jyoti Sagar Associate, Shardul Amarchand and mangaldas, l&l Partner, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, and other top law firms selected 48 students. The highest package was 18 lakh and the average was 12 lakh. after graduation I want to pursue my carrier in the corporate field.
Placement Experience:
Campus placements start from the beginning of the Fourth year i.e., for seventh-semester students. The batch of 2021 secured 48 placements at various top tier law firms such as Khaitan, Trilegal, Jyoti Sagar Associates, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, L&L Partners, Sharaf & Partners, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas etc. The highest package awarded was Rs 18 lakh and the average package was Rs 12 lakh. 40% of students got placements in the batch of 2021. After my graduation, I want to pursue a career in the corporate law field.
Placement Experience:
Placements can be secured in 3 ways 1. Pre placements offer (PPO): Based on the performance during the internship, students can get a call back internship or an interview call. PPOs are usually given in the penultimate year. 2. Day zero placements: This takes place at the end of the 4th year. Eligible Students can appear for the day zero placements. This usually spans for 3 days. 3. Rolling placements: In the 5th year, various law firms, PSUs and other organisations recruit students on a rolling basis. At NLIU the main recruiters are Khaitan and Co, Trilegal, Shardul Amar Mangaldas, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, IndusLaw, JSA, Lks, L and L , Azb and partners, ICICI Bank. Other organisations such as Vedanta, TRAI, Singh and Associates, Bharucha and Partners etc also recruit students. The placement at a tier 1 law firm ranges from 12- 16 LPA. Other law firms also offer decent remuneration. An average of (40-50 out of 120) students secure placement. Students also opt for alternate career options.
Placement Experience:
The interships start from first year itself. Placements start from 3rd years onwards. Some students secure offers by working excellently during their internships. There is a placement cell in university which works day in day out to help students. Teir 1 law firms are the biggest recruiters. Day zero happens in the last month of 4th year. Many law firms come for interview. Placements percent is really good. After the day zero in 4th many students keep getting placed on the basis of rolling placements. Which means many banks, law firms, companies keep coming during the 5th year. Many students opt for govt jobs and judiciary and UPSC. Success rate is really good.
Placement Experience:
From 4th year, the student becomes eligible for placement. More than 10 law firms, around 2 banks, 3 MNC, 3 In House companies come down to campus to hire students. Around 45 to 55 students are placed every year with average placement of 15 LPA

There are more opportunities and more chance for placements. Almost 10 students are selected for the placements in fourth and fivth year. The companies which come for placement are very well in terms of popularity.

The placements are among the best when we take into account the other law schools in India. Internships are provided by the placement committee from 3rd year onwards. I have not secured any internship through my college yet.

The placements are quite decent as the biggest of law firms and in- house law departments visit from the end of forth year to the end of fifth year. The placement committee also provides for internships with good firms. The stipend varies from nil to 20 thousand per month.

Its not unusual to have 100% placements in national law schools generally. The numbers indicate that the best firms took all our students and others would get absorbed in banks like ICICI back then. In my placement year (2011), the average figure was around 10 lakhs.
