My curruculum is B.tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering or ECE, one of the most relevent fields or disciplines in engineering. In this institute the descipline is taught really well at B.Tech level and my only suggestion for improvement would be to introduce more specilization into the discipline.
The curriculum is as per the latest regulation and curriculum properly welcome the new ideas and help us to develop our innovative and decision-making skills. The curriculum properly focuses on Basic Electrical Engineering, Engineering Graphics, Linear Algebra and Differential Equations., Probability and Statistics Computer Networks (Theory + Lab) and many more. the curriculum is the proper blend of theory and practical. The faculty of the college is very good and highly experienced. The faculty have completed their PhD degree from the top universities of India and their research experience is really commendable. The faculty is quite professional and they know how to teach us complicated terms easily.
As if avionics is in great demand in many IT and CS sectors and I have a huge interest for avionics that's why I opted for this branch. Taking about the faculty in IIST I think the the people in IIST are one of the best educator's I have ever. They are well qualified and have an amazing experience in their own field. Most of the faculties have the work experience in Indian space research organisation that's what make it really worth to study and research under their guidance. Considering the qualification of the faculty many of them are PhD from IIT's and they have a teaching experience of about on an average more than 7 years. The student ratio in IIST is 22.3 i.e in one batch 134 boys and 6 girls Talking about the semester exams the questions in the exams are of a certain level and they require a good conceptual knowledge more than quantitative
my branch contains CS/Electronics and Electrical. In the IIST faculty Student ratio is 1:9. All the faculty are PHD holders from premium institutes. They are very friendly with Students. In IIST One semester contains two midterm exams and one end term exam. In college to pass the exam is Moderate.
Fee Structure - 48400 per semester. But if you score 7.5 GPA or more in the ongoing semester you will the fees refunded to your account. Also you are then eligible for a scholarship of Rs. 3000 if you GPA is 7.5+.
The course I have chosen is Bachelors of Technology in Electronics and Communication with Avionics and I have chosen this course as I want to be a satellite engineer and this course is a little specialized for my goal. Our department has a well-qualified faculty who are pioneers in their respective fields and work in immersive research. We have around 20 professors in our department which is quite a good number and about 90% of them are proficient teachers while some of them are still rusty they do seem to pick it up over the years. The exams are well prepared and it is considered that our exams are a little harder than general. The exams are smartly crafted to make us think more intuitively and takes the genuine effort of each individual to score well.
You would face a problem with the pronounciation of faculties. Academics is very rigorous and hardcore. Labs are top level. You'd be forced through internships from second year onwards, lots of projects etc, you have to manage time very efficiently.
Those who get CGPA above 7.5, they got assistanceship from DoS every semester so they don't have to pay a single penny, but those who can't secure the above mentioned CGPA they have to pay Rs. 50,000 per semester. The mode of payment is through Internet banking. During admission they took Rs. 10,000 which they will return it after graduation. I didn't have to pay till now but I think there is no transparency in the fee-breakdown.
The semester fees is 48400 which is very nominal compared to many colleges of of this standards The students who secure a GPA of 7.5 will get a scholarship of Rs. 48400 (entire semester fees) from department of space(DOS).But getting 7.5 is easy for some semesters but not all.You can always expect the unexpected in here. You have to pay if you don't secure 7.5 then you have to pay your fees and you can get education loan from any bank .There is Union Bank of India in the campus itself and will sanction you loan after making you suffer a bit. M.tech students will get the pay by UGC Rs.12000 (not sure) for securing seat through GATE.
