A *developing* infrastructure, which cannot be compared to the present facilities at the old IITs. IIT Mandi is 15 kms away from the main Mandi city, so you get that Dominoz, and partying, and all that stuff at a stake of travelling 45minutes on bus
(IIT has its own buses running every hour between Mandi and the Campus). So if you are too much into city life and stuff then you may not like IIT Mandi. The inter-college fests they organize are less attractive than the big colleges however you get

Honest review of IIT Mandi

Infrastructure: infrastructure is well maintained here. We have a huge library, mega classrooms, auditorium, OAT, sports complex.
Club culture: club culture is good relative to other colleges.

Connectivity: no railway station in mandi make it a very hard to reach.
Faculty: some faculty are very rude to students and grading is relatively tough.

For taking admission one have to qualify jee mains and then JEE Advanced. Talking about difficulty jee mains is not that difficult but jee advanced is considered as one of the toughest examination. You can find application form on the official site of NTA. jee mains is happened two times per year, where jee advanced organized only once a year. After qualify jee advanced you have to sit for jossa counselling where the college is allotted based on your score.

IIT MANDI : HEAVEN IN THE MOUNTAINS

The people or the batchmates here are very helpful . Everyone feels like family here . We people enjoy together , go on treks, visited and explored new places in Himachal Pradesh . The thing here is that the whole campus is surrounded by mountains...
The food is tasty , as compred to kota which i resided during my jee days . The quality of food is good . No issues in it

The campus is beautiful but it is not so large as compared to other government colleges. But it's fine though.
They teach subjects like Engineering drawing to even Computer science students in the 1st year . But that's not a huge problem ig 😂

The admission process is like first we have to verify all the documents via officials . We students also help some freshers to help them in verifying the documents . The faculty registered for administration will help you in this case.

Why IIT Mandi Stands Out :A students perspective

Career and Placement cell - my main concern for joining IITMandi was placement, and it was a write decision to join it . In 2023 , the median package for data science and engineering branch was 32 lpa and average was also similar to it .
Upto date courses- The courses are updated and as per the industrial level . In the world AI and ML , there are three courses on Data science (1 , 2 and 3) compulsory for each branch , so there would be more interdisciplinair work.

Connectivity- there is connectivity problem between north and south campus , although a shorter path has been made but its not completed
Branch change- from 2024 onwards there will be no branch change . I think its bad decision as it was giving opportunities to the students to change their branches if they dont like the course structure .

Eligibility: Class 12th -minimum 75% Jee mains qualified Jee advanced qualified All the details you can get from the official website of jee advanced, each year one of the seven old iits conduct jee which uploads the details in their official website in 2023 it was by iit Guwahati and in 2024 its by iit madras . Jee mains happens for twice in jan (20-28) And april(1-7) Jee advanced in 25th may to 4june There is cutoff for each of the categories that you can get from jossa website and individual cutoff also from jossa website . Jee mains is of 300 marks Jee advanced has 2 papers 3 hours each in a single day total of 360 marks

System of placements at IIT Mandi

Peaceful environment for the students both to concentrate on studies and productive activities.
Best place to have trips as it's a beautiful place with many wonderful tourism spots nearly 2-4 hours from the college.

Travelling can be a hectic job as the way is full of ghats road
Weather can be too extreme, all in winters, summers and monsoons.

Students who cleared JEE advanced are accepted in this college. For category students cut off rank can be very less depending on the branch it may vary. Other category students also have good chance of getting admitted in the college as , the intake is increasing for every year. If you want to have a decent education you can opt for this college. It also has good placement rate .

My review on IIT Mandi

Infrastructure. We have two campuses, high end labs, good classrooms, libraries, sports complex etc
Diverse branches, flexible curriculum, courses to encourage robotics, entrepreneurship etc

The route between two campuses is not that proper especially if there are any lansdslides
The bus timings between the two campuses and from campus to Mandi are very busy during peak hours

I got the admission based on the rank received in JEE Advanced. As everybody is aware this exam is very tough to crack. Every year one IIT is responsible for conducting this exam. You can find the details on their website. The exam is of two shifts and it is mandatory to write both. Students of the top percentile in JEE Mains are eligible to write JEE Advanced.

The application process is very simple. We need to score good in jee advanced to get your specific branch in the college of your choice. There are no interviews for getting admission. This exam happens every year once.

I had given jee main and jee advanced exam in 2020 and 2021. After finally qualifying jeeadvanced in 2021, had applied in jossa counseling & choice filling. I got iit mandi and had done all process of admission. We have to submit all documents in college and have to do physical reporting of government documents. The jeemain application exam form date come in December and jeeadvanced in May.

For eligibility criteria, you have to pass in 10th and 12th boards. I went to Kota for jee preparation and I also took a drop in 12th. after I filled out the Jossa counseling form I got an IIT mandi with the electrical branch. You should have 75% marks on the 12th board. otherwise, you can't sit in jee advanced exam. fee for jee mains form is 1000 rupees and Foer jee advanced is 2900. you can fill out Jee's mains form nearly december and jee advanced in around april.counselling time you should have all document which is compulsory for filling this form.
