IIT Delhi has always been counted among some of the top IITs of the group and it is among the top properties for any BTech aspirant of our country. IIT-D also holds "National Importance Institution" Status to its name and admissions for B.Tech are based on the counselling procedure of JOSAA which requires a valid score in JEE.
Good Aspects - Nice Culture, Exposure to corporate World, Good Placement Records, Plethora of opportunities, Good Academics and Extracurricular activities.Bad Aspects - High Air Pollution, Stressful Environment, One suicide per year.Admission process - Firstly, one has to score more than the cut off of JEE Advanced, then depending on the rank, category and college and branch preference, the branch is allotted.Dates(in a normal year, not impacted by COVID) - JEE Advanced form releases just after mains result around early May, exam is conducted in last May, results are declared in mid June, counselling process starts late June and goes till mid July. Final branch and college is declared by that time, classes start from late July after the students visit and complete the admission process.Reason of preferring this college over others - I am a UPSC aspirant, so I wanted a college in Delhi so that I can prepare well for UPSC, so I preferred IITD over IITB.Name of any blog, forum or website used while selecting this college - Previous year JOSAA trends that is available on official website of JOSAA and prospectus of different colleges that are available on their official websites.
Awesome placement opportunities at multinational companies like Google, Microsoft, and many other placement opportunities are for final year students, huge amounts of money and facilities offered for your skills and your knowledge, there is approximately 100% placement other than the students who reject placements for pursuing their dreams, some startups and a high number of people these days are successful civil servants who cleared UPSC. Not only the opportunities are infinite but the crowd you get here is phenomenal.
1) I wanted to prepare for UPSC and Delhi is the coaching hub for upsc. 2) Delhi is near my hometown, Hisar 3) IIT Delhi has supposedly best Civil Engineering department in india. 4) It's an IIT, what else do you need
IIT Delhi provides best education & facilities at feasible fee,but we have a long way to go in research. We are far behind in research from MIT, UCLA & other foreign universities. Startup culture is promoted & students are encouraged to make jobs for others not to seek one & that's the best thing.
College is full of healthy competition and a very friendly atmosphere. Here the students and teachers push everyone to give their best. Many of the times students have to work in teams and this give them very good experience for future.
I think overall it is the best college in india for engineering. it has very good academics with good extra curricular environment and provides good placements, foreign internships. College also have student counseling services where you can go and discuss your problems.
Much more good things have to tell about the college. Not the academics but your overall personality gets developed in this college. As a result, the good placements and handsome salary jobs you get directly after college. Nice faculties and charming environment.
There is a good thing and it's that it is a proud feeling being at IIT. But bad one is that half of the students are reserved candidates becoz of whom IIT name is damping actually it is a govt issue. It should b stopped soon
