  • "I enrolled during the Covid time which didn't give me full exposure to the university facilities. There is no placement system, so I had to search for jobs own my own. There is a lot of competition in job, so it takes a lot of time to find the right job."

Campus Life:

Everything was very good and the university has resources in abundance. I was in during the covid time so didn't get to explore the activities but later, I enrolled to gym and swimming etc. which was really good.

Hostel:

The accommodation was really nice. There were 5 separate rooms for 5 people in my flat. We have shared kitchen and bathroom which can be a issue sometimes but if the roommates as good, it will be fine. The wifi, electricity, gas and water was free. Wifi had great speed, so anyone will have no complaints with it. My accommodation was a University accommodation which was very close to university (15 minutes walk), so I could also come back late at night from the library and it won't be an issue.

  • There were some things I didn't like about my time at the University of Glasgow, but overall it was a good experience.,
  • Weather: One problem that is often brought up is the weather. Glasgow is known for having grey weather and a lot of rain, which can make outdoor activities less fun. But this is more of a problem with the weather than with the university itself.,
  • Class Size: In some common classes, there can be a lot of people in the class. In many colleges, this happens all the time, but it can make it hard to find a seat in class and talk to professors one-on-one. It's possible that smaller class sizes would make learning better.,
  • Administrative Processes: The University of Glasgow has a lot of administrative complications, just like many other colleges and universities. Sometimes, the steps for enrolling, registering, or getting a visa can be long and hard to understand. Streamlining the way administration works could make things better for all students.,
  • Cost of Living: Living in Glasgow can be pretty pricey, even though it's a lively and exciting city. This can be hard, especially for foreign students, and you may need to carefully plan your budget and finances.,
  • Communication - Despite the abundance of accessible support, obtaining accurate information can be challenging. Universities could communicate detailed information more frequently through social media platforms and daily emails.

Campus Life:

The University of Glasgow is renowned for its lively and varied student clubs and societies. These organizations encompass a diverse array of interests, spanning intellectual, cultural, sporting, and leisure pursuits. Participating in a club or society is a superb method to connect with individuals and enhance your university journey. The university often organises a diverse range of events throughout the year, including as academic conferences, cultural festivals, and student-led activities. Monitor the university's event schedule for chances to partake in and actively involve yourself in extracurricular activities. Extracurricular Activities: In addition to joining clubs and organisations, you have the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities including volunteering, community outreach, or part-time employment. Engaging in these activities not only improves your social and personal growth but also adds to a comprehensive education. The University of Glasgow is widely recognized for its exceptional research facilities. It offers state-of-the-art research facilities in numerous sectors. If your programme and research interests align, you will likely have access to fully equipped laboratories, extensive libraries, and specialized research centres. The university offers several learning centres including main library which opens until morning 7am - 2am everyday that houses vast collections and abundant resources. All the learning hubs has adequate number of charging slots and seating space including pantry, cafeterias, lounge and vending machines.   The campus is furnished with WiFi connectivity, allowing students to conveniently access the internet. Additionally, students usually have the privilege of utilising the university's computer labs. The university provides a variety of sports and fitness amenities. This encompasses fitness facilities such as gyms, sports fields, and fitness classes. You have the option to engage in group sports or utilise sports facilities for individual physical well-being.

  • Dislikes:
  • This may not be directed to the university itself but the cost of living is very high at the moment which is an additional concern to the university tuition fee. Otherwise, I don't have any complaint or dislikes about the university itself.

Campus Life:

1) Large library of 8 floors with study spaces and rooms for group studies. The library also has a cafeteria and vending machine. 2) Learning Spaces such as the Fraser Building and JMS Learning Hub for students. 3) Large Gym with Olympics Pool and Sauna as well. The Gym also organise classes for members. 4) Zoology and Hungarian Museum in the main campus. 5) Newly Opened Research Center in the Main Campus. 6) The University Union which has rooms for society/club events as well as a pub. 7) The Hive which is the university club.

Hostel:

The university has many accommodations which is usually a min of 15 to 25 mins max walk away from the main campus. The accommodation is organised like a apartment/flat where the student will have their own room with an en-suite bathroom but the kitchen and living space will be share.

Hostel:

There are many options, both student accomodation and private. Student accomodation is definitely a little bit more expensive but would be all inclusive. In the UK, almost always you will have a room to yourself (no room sharing), just sharing of a flat with others (common kitchen, living room and maybe bathrooms)

University of glasgow is a very well renowned institution especially in the field of biological sciences and I also wanted to experience life in the UK
