- I chose this university as it comes in Top 100 universities in the world. Also the course modules were inline with my expectations and what I wanted to learn.,
- The study pattern, campus, and the influence of the university everywhere is very good. A Masters degree from my uni is considered very reputable( specific to my course). Better weather than other areas. Good transport links.
- Dislikes:
- Lack of cultural diversity. Not much to explore in the city. No direct job placements but it’s the same with other universities as well. Lack of modern architecture
Overview:
The overall experience was good at my university. It fulfilled my expectations in most aspects. One downside is you don’t get a culturally diverse set of students. But it is specific to my course.
Fees:
My tuition fee was 25000 pounds before the scholarship.
- Likes:
- Course structure, reviews from other students and University is the part of Russell group.,
- I really liked the course structure, it was well updated. We worked on different technologies like Hadoop, MongoDb, PyTorch, Machine learning and streamlit etc. There are many societies as well for machine learning, data science etc which will help you to do something out of the box. There are many challenges where they ask you to give any business idea and they give you monetary prizes. You can also go for student innovation projects where you work with a company and get some professional experience. You can also attend many events where real researchers discuss about their findings, I went to a session where Mark Nixon gave presentation and he is one of the renowned scientist in UK.
- Dislikes:
- There are no major points that I can talk about which I disliked about the university. There are very less job opportunities in UK, I believe that everyone is facing that issue so it is not very university specific thing. Placements were the only issue.
Overview:
Overall experience in terms of quality of education is extremely good, course structure, staff, learning opportunities are wonderful. But from the placement perspective I can say it was not extremely good, in the economy like UK there are millions of people are trying to settle in this country whereas handful of them get the chance. To get a job with Tier 2 visa is extremely hard, I was lucky that I got one, but it is a real struggle. I advise everyone to get at least some work experience before coming here and prepare yourself to grind.
Fees:
26850 pounds was my annual fees and I paid it in 3 instalments.
- Likes:
- I deal with electrochemistry and University of Southampton is one of the oldest university with an excellent track record of innovative research in electrochemistry. Moreover, the supervisor that I chose to approach has exactly the same research interest as mine.,
- Bus facilities. Wonderful buses running all across the city every 10 minutes. You get free bus tickets if you are staying at university halls. Diversity and equality is laid importance.
- Dislikes:
- Thankfully I never came across any bad experience so there isn't anything that I dislike about the university.
Overview:
My experience has been quite good. Punctuality and professionalism are two most important thing there. A work-life balance is encouraged to every student and employee. Courses and jobs are also designed in such manner. Flexible working hours facility is also offered for child-care. Overall, I have imbibed a lot of good work ethics and a lot of self-confidence in me.
Fees:
My course fee was 26,000 GBP which is roughly 26lakh in INR. This was fully covered by my scholarship.
Overview:
The admission process was smooth and university helped a lot. Process starts from November/ December and should be applied as soon as possible in order to get a few scholarship/ bursaries. I applied in april and the process was smooth. Got my results in June and thereafter everything is quite oriented and international support is pretty good throughout as well.
Fees:
Fees could be paid in 3 installments or as one time. payment via swift transaction. Always take the loan from a nationalized bank if you are going to show it as an evidence. Considering the current scenario expect a total expense of around 35-40lakhs atleast, depending upon your lifestyle and location (in or out of london)
Overview:
The faculty, course structure, location, and students were the main attractions for me to choose Southampton University.
Fees:
There is a £19,500 program fee.
Overview:
It had a really good course reputation, I loved the campus, the open days were really good. There was a really good range of areas to study and it offered interesting modules that weren't available at other colleges.
Fees:
Cost of £9000 per year for tuition. This can be paid through a student loan, which you start paying back after you earn over £22000 a year but with high-interest rates. Also, a maintenance grant that is calculated based on your parent's income alone.
Overview:
It's the best ranked in the subject area. The subject itself was also very good compared to another university and the university impressed on an open day. Plus it's in a great location and the campus is very nice.
Fees:
There was a standard government student loan of 9,250, the maximum allowed for a university to charge. It will be paid back out of my future wage.
