University of glasgow is a very well renowned institution especially in the field of biological sciences and I also wanted to experience life in the UK
Course Curriculum :
The biotechnology program offered a lot of hands on research experience, would have been more if the pandemic had not started. The syllabus seemed quite updated. However, the entire course was not as intensive as I thought it would be (there were definitely periods of intensity with lectures and coursework submissions, but also many weeks with only 3 hours of classes per week).
Exams :
A 2:1 in a Bachelor's degree related to the field. I did not take any standardized tests.
Placement :
Finding a job in the UK is not the most difficult thing, however, finding one that is willing to sponsor a work visa is very difficult.
Events :
Campus has great infrastructure, both historical architecture and modern facilities. There are many clubs and societies for students to join but are mainly aimed at undergraduates.
Scholarship :
No
Faculty :
The staff are all very knowledgeable and approachable. Faculty to student ratio was always good.
Hostel :
There are many options, both student accomodation and private. Student accomodation is definitely a little bit more expensive but would be all inclusive. In the UK, almost always you will have a room to yourself (no room sharing), just sharing of a flat with others (common kitchen, living room and maybe bathrooms)
