Likes

the sports facilities are nice enough and you can explore stuff
the campus is beautiful your eyes will be soothed
the professors mostly are nice and approachable first sem ke bekar the

Dislikes

gender ratio is 4 boys to 1 girl in campus which ain't much
there is no boxing training place here in campus
first year hostel rooms are not very good and not equal treatment for all, random but still

Course Curriculum Overview

the curriculum is okayish not the best obviously because it is kind of irrelevant some branch is being taught some subject of no relevance to them like economics majors are being taught quantum mechanics

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 280000 per year

Internships Opportunities

plenty of opportunities but for those who areskilled enough to get something it ain't like you will get everything spoonfed opportunities are there you have to take them nobody would give it to you by spoon

Placement Experience

placements are decent as obviously this is an IIT that too top 5 old IIT, roorkee it is average may be around 20 circuital branches getting the average to the higher side which is kinda obvious keeping in mind market

Fees and Financial Aid

1.5 lakh for autumn sem 1.3lakh for spring sem 1 lakh for both sem is tution fees while other includes hostel fees electricity fees and mess fees mess fees is 20000 for each semester there are many scholarships

Campus Life

annually 2 major fests and many minor fests are organised thomso cultural cognizance technical smaller fests like e summit social summit comet summit etc. are there library has huge number of books sports facilities are plenty and tons of clubs too

Hostel Facilities

hostel is okayish rooms are not same for all which is a bad thing some have polished rooms some have bad "IIT "-like rooms i got one of the bad rooms so that is sad mess okayish breakfast is good other time not the best

Hostel Fee: INR 15000 per year

Admission

you have to give jee mains exam, qualify it and then give jee advanced exam get a good rank only then you can even have a chance to get into Indian institute of technology, Roorkee, I got a decent rank and hence made it here

Faculty

faculties are approachable, mostly are there for your doubts even after class and you may go to their office room too the ratio of students to prof is kind of high because of students being not a small number in this indian institute of technology Roorkee for exams there are mid sem exams end sems and quizzes in between

Night Life

gym timings are normal morning 6 to 9 afternoon 3 to 9 freedom to move in our anytime in campus or hostel library closed at 12midnight study rooms are there for each hostel and library has one too campus is safe, outside isn't

Go there for the views, skip it if you have dreams of campus placement unless you're self-motivated.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is normal as standardized by the AICTE. The books are same as per the relevant subjects. The library is ill stocked so either borrow the books from seniors or get them from somewhere else. The curriculum doesn't prepare anyone for real world applications. The teaching methods could use a lot of upgradation.

Good place for your undergraduate degree

Placement Experience:

placements are good here with a avg package of 5 lakhs but students who work reall hard get placemnts more than 10 lakhs the highest package at my time was of 58 lakhs and many got 10-20 lakhs package as well so i say placements aare decent here. Companies such as oracle adobe palalto visits here and they give higher packages to students.

I took part in jossa councelling and got it . I was happy with any of seven old iits . In better way , i would be happy in going any top iit. 1st year opinion of IIT Roorkee

I took admission from JEE (Main+Advance).Form could be found on NTA website. Some reservation benefits were , i got a bit higher brancher even though my rank was lower. Mains timing are morning shift and evening shift. As for advance it runs all day for 6 hours(with a break of 2 hour in between). Mains is easy , advance is a bit difficult....Read More
