Course Curriculum Overview
B.Com(Hons.) is a very demanding course at present. This made me choose it. The teaching methods used in the university are very engaging. The concepts are clarified very easily. Double clearing sessions are also held.
Placement Experience
Around 50% students are provided placements after the completion of the course. I personally am pursuing CA right now and would not be using the benefits of placement provided by the college. The college students gets places at very big firms such as Deloitte, KPMG, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
Per year fees: 34,500 Approx. 35,000 for General Category Students The total course fees differs on the fact whether the person is pursuing the course for 3 years or 4 years. Simply multiply the annual fees with the number of years you wish to pursue the degree to get the total course fees.
Campus Life
My overall experience has been extremely great. The events and fests are on a different level. It is an amazing experience to be part of the societies and engage in various activities conducted within the societies.
Admission
I also applied to BHU and even got selected. But I chose DU as it is a better option for someone with commerce background who wants to pursue further studies in commerce field. Also, DU offers a lot of exposure which encourages personality development.
Faculty
The faculty members are quite approachable. It is extremely easy to get are doubts cleared. Semester exams are held every 6 months which are written exams. Along with this, tests, assignments, presentations and various other activities take place during the 6 months which contribute to our IA and CA marks. The total marks for a subject includes IA + CA + Semester Marks. We are supposed to study a total of 7 subjects in the course. 3 core subjects and 1 GE ( General Elective ) which have the following marking scheme: IA ( Internal Assessment ) - 30 CA ( Continuous Assessment ) - 40 Semester Exams - 90 Along with these we need to study 3 more subjects which are categorised as follows: AEC: Ability Enhancement Course SEC: Skill Enhancement Course VAC: Value Added Course Their marking scheme differ on the basis of subjects that a person chooses.
Night Life
The college provides gym facilities but it is mostly accessible to the students engaged in sports activities of the college. The library is really nice. There is a huge place to study just as we enter the library but there are chairs placed between the bookshelves downstairs for people who prefer privacy while studying. Sudama Chai is a must try and the chole khulche in front of Arts College is amazing. The fests at night in college has a different vibe all together.
