Remarks :

The MIET college is one the best colleges in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Everyone knows about it and they have made a good name for themselves. The infrastructure and the campus are very good and very big, surrounded by trees and nature all around. One negative thing that I would like to mention is that the college lies on the outskirts of the town and it takes time to reach their and the local transport facility to reach there is kind of average.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is quite good. This college is one of the oldest and the best college in the Jammu and Kashmir. A lot of emphasis is laid on practical aspects and not just theoretical. The exam structure is standard and is same for all engineering colleges associated with Jammu University.

Placement Experience :

The MIET college is probably the best in J&K in terms of the placements and job opportunities. A lot of companies have a tie up with the college and they come to the campus every year to give job opportunities to the worthy students.

College Events :

There are a lot of social and sporting events that are organized by the college every year. The one most popular event is the annual fest organized every year. The fest organized by MIET college is the best among all other colleges in J&K and everyone, even students from other colleges wait for thier fest every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is neither feasible nor expensive. I got in through JKCET counselling process and my fee was around 55,000 rupees per year without hostel facilities. Although, If you get in by taking a payment seat, that is direct entry without any entrance test, then the fee is way more than that. Its almost double and is around 90,000 a year.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I do not know of any such scholarships or loans that are providied by the college. But I do know about this scholarship for the reservation students, that is SC, ST, OBC, provided by the social welfare office. A lot of students availed that scholarship and got back the tuition fee part of the fee structure every year.

Campus Life :

There are not a lot of extracurricular activities in the college. The students are mostly concerned with their studies. But there are a few functions and celebrations on teachers day every year. The labs are quite good in this college. They are all well equipped and students can really strengthen their skills by doing various practicals in these labs.

Hostel Facilities :

I did not opt for the hostel because I live here in Jammu but I have seen the hostel provided by the college. It is not that good. Its like average and the infrastructure is not too big either. The reason behind that is students dont often opt for hostel in Jammu and would rather choose to stay on rent or as a paying guest.

Alumni/Alumna :

The seniors are generally very friendly and helping. They will help you and guide you with their experience in the college. There is no serious trouble of ragging in the campus but there are a few seniors always who would always try to be the bad guys but its fine. I guess every college has that.

Faculty :

The faculty is very good. Almost all the teachers are experienced in their fields and have been teaching there for years now. Although there are some new teachers coming in who are not as good as expected from this college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Computer science is an interesting course with a good job opportunity. The exams however are exhausting, not that difficult but exhausting. The question papers are prepared by the faculty itself and papers are checked by the faculty too.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible from 7th semister for the university placements. There are various companies that visit the university like TCS, Airtel, Jio, Infosys, etc. Some students do get placed at packages of around 5 LPA. My plans are to develop skills and apply for jobs outside university placements.

Placement Experience:

I think the students become eligible for placements after 6 th semester, if you are from CS / IT then you'll get enough opportunities for yourself... I know 8-9 seniors who have grabbed a pretty decent package from companies like Oracle If somehow you fail to get recruited on campus then i guess the off campus option is open for all I am pretty satisfied with the placement record atleast for IT The percentage placement for this year CSE was 51 considering recession part this seems good to me

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course is really helpful as you don't have to wait for one year after the graduation for doing masters and preparing for exams. Here you are directly going for Masters without giving any exam without wasting your time. You are directly going to pursue masters

Course Curriculum Overview:

Basically the faculty also does not know what questions will be in the external exams, so they need to cover whole syllabus and 4 months are not sufficient to cover the whole syllabus. I did not learn any practical thing there so it was the worse decision of my life to join the course. The curriculum only prepares you to handle the pressure and makes you really strong. "What will happen with 1 backlog now" They first need to know what is important and what can they skip. Timings were good but the last 2 semisters were taken in 8 months that was difficult to manage

Placement Experience:

Placement scenario is not same every year . I didn't get placement and almost majority students do not get placement of my batch in all streams it's also because of the recession going in our country. But the companies that come here took girls only their focus was to balance girls and boys ratio in their office so companies were taking girls only very few boys were placed . Less than 50% students were palced from my stream. Highest package was of 10 lakhs and 4 students were placed in that company with a contract of 5 years only others were placed at an average package of 5-6 lakhs
