SSM (Send Some Money)

Dislikes

  • You have to pay for everything, even for parking you need to pay
  • The chancellor of the college is so rude that you cant even talk to her about any thing

Course Curriculum Overview :

Basically the faculty also does not know what questions will be in the external exams, so they need to cover whole syllabus and 4 months are not sufficient to cover the whole syllabus. I did not learn any practical thing there so it was the worse decision of my life to join the course. The curriculum only prepares you to handle the pressure and makes you really strong. "What will happen with 1 backlog now" They first need to know what is important and what can they skip. Timings were good but the last 2 semisters were taken in 8 months that was difficult to manage

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yearly the fee is60k. Tution fee 45k,caution fee 5k, reg fee 5k, admission fee 10k, bus fee 15k. I dont know the fee structure other than OM. One scholarship is available PMSS 25k per year So basically this college is a branch or is associated with University of Kashmir. Most of the students join to get a degree from Kashmir university, so talking about reality now its more like a business, greedy business, they really dont care about any student they just want money. I undersatnd that they also need capital but the way they take is horrible. After admission 1st year is same for all every branch has same subjects and I enrolled for CS . I also know that I have enrolled in CS and they also know, then after 1 year they ask for 10k as department fee, I really dont know why, then maintaince fee 13k for bus maintaince. Why should I pay bus maintaince if I am paying bus fee, also you cannot cancel a bus, you have to travel by bus or stay in there hostel(only 2 options), generating money. Every semister has a semister fee, gradution day fee , fee fee and fee. I really feel that this is the worst college.

Campus Life :

The college has many many festivals and events, most of the students join for that reason only. But not technical, they are just events, every month we did have events and also picnics and trips, just to generate more income. Personally I studied from youtube and completed degee on time and I never went to library. The classroom had 4 walls, benches and a white board. No sports and extracurricilar activities as the college does not have a ground. Yes we did have DSW, students union but it was more concerned for the management, we named it management union.

Admission :

Honestly my score in JEE was prelly low and they do have a fifferent entrance exam JK CET, so I qualified the exam with a good score and was selected in CS. I just attempted one JEE and the exam for this college, so I only had one option.

Faculty :

So the faculty is pretty good they put there efforts and also try their best. Some students roam around them and get the attention. Personally the best teacher for me was Miss.Mahwish, she was very concerned about our future and her subject also (DBMS). Mr.Irfan was a good teacher but the college did not suite him, he was over qualified for the college, so that is the reason he did not take care of students. 2 exams per semister, 1 internal 1external The internal exam is in college itself, every student passes that (money) The external exam is conducted itself by University of kashmir, 50-70% students fail. Its not that difficult, if you are good with the basics you can clear.

Night Life :

As I mentioned the college is in a village + highway, no social life , 2 or 3 shops, no canteen, no nightlife. No gym, no cafeterias, I dont know much about library. I have not stayed in hostel, so I dont know about it but the price is very very expensive. We had 2 restraunt in college inside the campus, few stalls thats it. You can really roam outside in that area.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Computer science is an interesting course with a good job opportunity. The exams however are exhausting, not that difficult but exhausting. The question papers are prepared by the faculty itself and papers are checked by the faculty too.

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible from 7th semister for the university placements. There are various companies that visit the university like TCS, Airtel, Jio, Infosys, etc. Some students do get placed at packages of around 5 LPA. My plans are to develop skills and apply for jobs outside university placements.

Placement Experience:

I think the students become eligible for placements after 6 th semester, if you are from CS / IT then you'll get enough opportunities for yourself... I know 8-9 seniors who have grabbed a pretty decent package from companies like Oracle If somehow you fail to get recruited on campus then i guess the off campus option is open for all I am pretty satisfied with the placement record atleast for IT The percentage placement for this year CSE was 51 considering recession part this seems good to me

Placement Experience:

Placement scenario is not same every year . I didn't get placement and almost majority students do not get placement of my batch in all streams it's also because of the recession going in our country. But the companies that come here took girls only their focus was to balance girls and boys ratio in their office so companies were taking girls only very few boys were placed . Less than 50% students were palced from my stream. Highest package was of 10 lakhs and 4 students were placed in that company with a contract of 5 years only others were placed at an average package of 5-6 lakhs

Course Curriculum Overview:

Faculty and seniors are more cooperative than I thought, they create an environment for every student to learn a few more aspects in their domain. There should be some gap given in the time table, so that there will be less academic stress

Course Curriculum Overview:

• B.e./B.Tech is one the most popular course, i prefer this course with an idea of securing well paid job after completion of this professional degree. Also i was good in mathematics and science from the childhood. • SSM College is a private university with multiple campuses in India. It is known for its large student population and expansive academic programs. However, specific data on the faculty-to-student ratio may vary across different campuses and departments within the university. It can contribute to a better learning experience and individualized support for students. • Minimum of 5 years experience in teaching / research /industry of which 2 years post PhD experience is desirable. • Use multiple sources of data for each course. • Mid term exams were on time after completing 2 chapters from all subject. It is done before Major exams. It is easy to pass mid term exams as it is of 50 marks and pass marks is just 20
