Course Curriculum Overview :
The Pharmacy curriculum specifically is very apt and we follow the PCI which is what other colleges also do. The added advantage of BITS is that in the first year we have common subject with everyone like C programming and Engineering graphics so we get that additional experience and knowledge.
Internships Opportunities :
For core pharmacy there are limited companies that come like Dr. Reddy's laboratories, Yashoda hospitals and LV Prasad eye institute. The first internship is done after the second year during the summer break (2 months) and no stipend is given for this month. The second internship called PS2 is fine in the four-year, either in the first sem or second sem depending on students preference. Students need to study for the interview to get allotted a company for PS2.
Placement Experience :
from the 6th semester students are eligible for placements. The highest package this year was a CTC of 1cr. Around 90% of the students get placed. i want to pursue my master's after my degree in a different Country.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is no reservation during the admission process. Admission is soley through merit. Everyone in a batch pays the same fee per year. the total fees for the entire course is around 25 lakhs. For people in need there is a merit cum need scholarship that is given to students based on their cgpa in every semester.
Campus Life :
all events in campus are completely students run. Even major things like funds are handled by the students only. Club involvement is a huge part of campus culture. Every year each club inducts interested members based on interview conducted by the current post holders (president, secretary). There are 2 main fests held- ATMOS (tech fest) that happens in November and Pearl (cultural fest) that happens in March. There are other events like Verba maximus, sanskriti (conducted by the regional associations on campus)
Hostel Facilities :
The accomodation is pretty nice. In the first two years it's double occupancy in Malaviya Bhawan and in the third and fourth year is single occupancy in Meera bhawan for the girls. The room comes with two plug points and cot for the mattress, a table and a cupboard and basic electricity facilities. No electrical appliances are allowed inside the hostel.
Admission :
BITS was my first preference cause it's in the city i live in and i would get to experience the hostel Life being in my own city as hostel here is mandatory. Everyone needs to write BITSAT for admission.
Faculty :
The faculty are very approachable and friendly and extremely professional. They arrange private meetings for any student in need and we are always welcome to go and talk to them in their cabins. Professor Vamsi and professor Yogeeswari are amazing at what they teach and make the classes very interactive and fun.
Interview Experience :
There was no group discussion or interview for admission. There is a written test called BITSAT that is usually conducted in June/July and the student can see their marks right after the test is submitted. based on the marks the students are admitted in various iterations.
Night Life :
There is no in time for students one they are inside the campus. The main hangout spots are RNT, Hotspot, Rock garden and New acad block. The best outlets are Yummpy's, the salad counter and tea time. the gym is open from 5am to 9pm and students would have to register to access the gym. The library is open from 9am to 12am and extends till 3am during exam time.
