- The campus has very bright minds. Because there’s no reservation, everyone here has come based purely off their academic merits.
- The campus is beautiful and equipped with all necessary shops and places.
Dislikes
- The fees is a little over the board and keeps increasing every year.
- A few clubs seem pointless, while most tech clubs are amazing.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The courses are a little outdated. But they are all necessary. The curriculum includes your main course and along with that a minor course(finance for me.). This prepares you very well for the real world. The courses can be updated every year. Each course has different frequencies of exams. Some have two quizzes along with midsem and endsem, while others do not have quizzes and havw assignments instead.
Internships Opportunities :
our college offers practice schools during our second year and our fourth year. There are countless companies that come for these schools, so the biggest ones are Rubrik, Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Microsoft, Amazon, and many more.
Placement Experience :
If they have a single degree course, students are eligible in the first semester of their fourth year. The campus placements, despite recession is better than mosr colleges with around 71% placements. The average is around 17LPA. Im not sure about the highest but its above 90LPA for as much as Ive heard.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I will pay around 285000, fees per year, this includes Hostel and tuition fees. Along with this, twice in our course, we have to go for practise schools(PS), which are industrial internships that you have to pay 850000 for. The first PS-1, is unpaid for you, in the second one, you get paid. Usually the pay will range from 80000, to anywhere upto 300000. There's no management category or reservation so no different in fees. Along with that, you get Scholarships if you are in the top 1% (100% tuition fees) and top 3% (40% tuition fees.)
Campus Life :
The campus life is very fun. In total, there are three fest in a year with one being a technical fest, which is called Atmos. Another being the main cultural fest called Pearl. The library is one of the biggest in India with all sorts of books and channels available. Their facilities and technical provisions are out of this world period. This sports and extra curricular activities are also over the top with almost every sport being available and all the sports team, being the best in South India. There are many clubs and apartments and everything in the campus control by the students, so it's a very fun camp campus to be in.
Hostel Facilities :
the hostels are like what you'd expect from a college, the facilities in a room or a table and a chair and a bed and an almirah. The mess food is mediocre. Best, you get non-veg thrice a week which is pretty good period. The registration process for Hostel is done during your admission. Affordability of the hostel is pretty cheap to be honest. It's about ?20,000 per semester. As it's a residential campus, you cannot live outside the campus.
Admission :
I applied to most tier 2 IITs. The reason I chose this college was the flexible curriculum they have. 0% attendance policy along with the flexibility of making your own time table makes it easier for students to find their own interests and excel in them. BITSAT is the way to get into BITS, unless you are a stateboard topper. The cutoff is around 230/360 marks. The exam level is near to JEE Mains. The admission process is handled by students and is very smooth.
Faculty :
I am not sure about the exact faculty to students ratio but all the faculty are ready to help you whenever you need them to. They also provide project opportunities under them. I like Prabhakaran sir and Prashant sir because they genuinely seem interested to teach their courses. I do not like Subhodeep sir as his classes are fairly boring. The exams are VERY TOUGH. If the total mark is 100 then the average would go around 20. Relative grading makes up for it tho.
