Course Curriculum Overview :

course is fantastic according to me as it is very creative. i have a very deep interest in architecture and reigional planning. it includes various subjects like GVC (graphics and visual communication), BD (basic design), DG (discriptive geometry), BM (building materials), IA (introduction to architecture) , HA (history of architecture) etc. frequency in our course is adjustable as it includes morning classes from 8 am to 12 pm on monday, tuesday, wednesday only. and we have a studio which is open whole week. exam can be either in any shift as we have two shifts (morning and afternoon). morning shift timings are 9 am to 11 am and afternoon shift timings are 2 pm to 4 pm. i think that there is no need to have any improvement in my course as i am finding it easy to manage. yeas, sometimes it becomes loaded due to assignment submission. but its adjustable if you use your maturity to manage all that stuff.

Internships Opportunities :

internships and placements are not excellent but i think they are good. companies like ITC limited, goldman, sachs, HUL and amazon offers jobs to final year students . these companies also offer PPOs to the 3rd year students of B.Tech students and to the 4th year students of B.Arch students. there were more than 1600 offeres in 2023 . total recruiters participated in 2023 were 34. highest package was 2.68 crore rupees per annum. total companies participated were approximately 300. average package is around 18 to 20 lpa.

Placement Experience :

so if we talk about placements, then its currently not good but it does not means that placement is totally zero . it varies every year but currently its going down. so after 3rd year you can apply for internships and placements . and if you are in 1st or 2nd year then you can apply for free or paid internships to learn more and more to build you cv. Highest package offered was 2.68 crore rupees per annum and average package is around 18 - 20 lakhs rupees per annum. companies participated in last session was 61 and total offers made were 700. number of international offers were 19 (6 offers were more than 1 crore per annum). number of students placed in 2023 were 1750. popular recruiters were ITC limited, goldman, sachs, HUL . so those who dont get any job or they are not placed , they basically continue to become enterpreneur. my plans after completing my degree to become a famous architect.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The detailed fee structure of IIT Kharagpur are different for different program. The following is the breakdown of tuition fees (per year) of different programs B.Tech= 4 years, fees around 8-10 lakhs rupees. M.Tech= 2 years, fees around 55-60 rupees. MBA= 2years, fees around 10-12 lakhs rupees. IIT Kharagpur offers various scholarships to its students, including;- 1. Merit Cum Means Scholarship: for b. tech, dual degree, b.arch, BS and integrated courses. 2. Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship: for 2 years students of joint Ph.D program. 3. INSPIRE DST Scholarship: for eligible students. 4. Central Sector Scholarship Scheme: for eligible students. Additionally, IIT Kharagpur provides financial assistance through: 1. Tuition fees Waiver: for eligible students. 2. Research assistantship: for Ph.D students. 3. Teaching assistantship: for Ph.D students. On the other side, my batchmates, if they are sc, st, obc etc., have the benefit of 100% tuition fee waiver.

Campus Life :

my overall experience about clubs, festive season, is fantastic. there are approximately 50 clubs in IIT kharagpur. i am currently ASM in iitkgp's tech fest which is spring fest. other fests it conducts is like kshitij which is also called KTJ in short, shaurya etc. the central library near main building is literally very large. it contains many types of books like course books of different programs, different department, value based books and many many more. we have great facilities in our classroons like ac facility , projector facilities. clubs here are like pravaah which is hindi dramatics club, breakfree which is a dance club, esports which is a online game club , debating society etc. the extracurricular are cricket , football, basketball, swimming table tennis here and this campus dont ave any deficiency in any aspect. there are various student run social groups like SWG, IWG, GYWS etc. these all things are very helpful for those children who are not economically well.

Hostel Facilities :

so as i am first year ug student therefore i got a triple shared room in lal bahadur shastri hall of residence. we have nice facilities in our rooms and in our hostels. like we have a general store in the ground floor, stationery shop and nescafe is also on the ground floor . so we are very near to our basic facilities. meals quality is better or like above average in mess. cafe and other restaurents have a fantanstic quality meal. there are almost 1800 students in our hostel so bonding and interaction is very nice . hygine is very carefully handled as each row has 2 washroom compounds which are regularly cleaned every morning. ambulence service to our hostel is very good i found here. and further our hostel rooms are cleaned every week. each room has there separate beds, tables, chairs, drawers and cupboards. security facility in our hostel is also good as we have a regular check by security guards in our rooms whether we are feeling good and we are safe or not.

Admission :

i have chosen this college over other colleges in india as its in top 5 colleges in india for engineering and also according to my rank i found this college as the best college. it holds various clubs and the amazing and outstanding environment which i got here cannot be compared with other colleges. further, other IITs which are above IITKGP like IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, i didnot get any seat ther. as well as i didnot choose some of these colleges in my josaa list as they were far away from my home. so, the admission process of my college is very complex as college provide you a manuel full of instructions and you have to only follow those steps very carefully. if you do any mistake in the process then seat may get cancelled. you have to be very very much careful in this case. if anyone want to continue with architecture department then he or she has to give jee adv AAT after jee adv qualifying as it is mandatory part.

Faculty :

Faculties are really very helpful. whenever we need support, they are always ready to serve us. relationship between students and faculties is nice. Some professors of my department such as Mr. Joy Sen Sir, Dr. Gaurabdas Mahapatra, etc are amazing. they have a very deep knowledge of subejct with all concepts well cleared. i like my faculty Mr. Joy Sen Sir because he was himself a student at IITKGP campus. some professors like dr. gaurabdas mahapatra are very strict in terms of assingment submission. sometimes this becomes burden on us. so basically we have four types of examinations in a year which includes two mid-sems and two end-sems as we have two semesters in a year.

Placement Experience:

Around 70 percent students here opt for placements, others might go for Higher studies or for business/startups. This number might decrease this year and within next few years as the Startup craze is increasing in students

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from 3rd year (B.Tech) and 4th year (B.Arch). However, B.Arch students often do not opt for campus placements which are generic. They usually seek employment options themselves outside. Yet, the average placements in IIEST is impressive, the highest even reaching 40LPA for a select few. I haven't opted for campus placements. I am going to seek a job in Delhi or Mumbai (hubs for good architectural practice) followed by higher studies after the requisite experience.

Remarks:

Lots of Freedom. Depends on the student to use it wisely. The college does not have intime, hence people can roam around anywhere nearly any time. This increases the safely issue. Also, due to too much feeedom, students end up in substanxe abuse quite often. It is upto the student to wisely go about the utilise the freedom to build good skill sets and interact.

Remarks:

Being a private college under a branding, an environment of class segregation is created throughout the college which is not good for the mental health of students who take admission on the basis of merit. The class segregation affects the academics of the students as well. There is one good thing. There is a faculty feedback system that helps record the grievances of students regarding the teaching staffs and facilititates required measures to change the situation.

Entrance Preview:

Formerly IIT-JEE, now known as JEE-Advanced, is the entrance examination and the only option to get into any of the IITs. I had appeared twice for the exam, securing All-India-Ranks 17249 and 9471 in both the attempts.

Placement Experience:

IITs offer the maximum and highest placements in India, and IIT Kharagpur ranks 2-4 among all, most of the times. Highest package offered varies from Rs 1 crore to Rs 2 crores per annum.
