Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum is revised in every few years and most of the courses are relevant and there is enough flexibility provided to the students in choosing their coursework . There are options of selecting interdisciplinary courses like computer science student can study Management courses and humanities courses and vice versa . There are however some courses which are old and need to be changed like Engineering Drawing in first year is a very old school course and now does not hold much importance . However things have been revised recently and changing at a good pace . Recently a course related to Gender Sensitisation has been added which is a good addition

Internships Opportunities :

there are very good in internship opportunities available in our college. The companies like Microsoft ,Samsung ,Zepto ,Tata steel, ITC ,Piramal, Accenture and a lot of other companies come to the campus. The average stipend is 50,000 to 75,000 depending on the roles. however, there is also stipend of 1.5 lakhs in some companies, majorly of quaint and finance. There are foreign companies as well like Optiver, which offer a total of 60 lakhs with accommodation in Amsterdam. This year, they took two people for the role of trading analyst. The variety of rules vary from SDE, finance analyst to core electronics and others.

Placement Experience :

Students get eligible for placements from the 5th semester or final year ( depending on their degree). There are various companies visiting every year like Google , Microsoft , Amazon , BCG , Apple , Graviton , Zepto , Samsung , ITC , Accenture , Tata Steel and many more . The highest packages given are more than 100 lacs while the average package is around 15 lacs . Every company offers atleast 1,2 profiles like SDE , Analytics , Finance , Consultancy ,etc . Around 2400 students sit for placements every year and more than 1700 are placed . I plan to get a job in the placements next year and study further

Fees and Financial Aid :

The fees for the first semester is 1.5 lacs which includes some one time charges , after that every alternate semester (Spring-1.2lacs and Autumn - 1.4 lacs alternatley). The overall fees depends on the hostel because every hostel has some different charges according to their hall budget decided every year and mess addon charges are also added . Tution fees is 1 lac rupees and hostel fees is 15 thousand on average . There is no tution fees for SC/ST candidates and they only have to pay hostel fees which is around 15 thousand and other charges of gymkhana , internet , hostel maintenance , overhead charges which consitute overall 30-35k rupees . There are various scholarships for students including merit cum means scholarship for economically weak and backward classes . The process is simple and every year all students are informed of openings , amount of scholarship varies from 50000 to 80,000 depending on the conditions .

Campus Life :

there are a lot of annual festivals, including Techfest and social and cultural fest. The technology fest is KSHITIJ and that the social and cultural fest is spring fest, which is Asia's largest and is going into its 66th edition this year, there are a lot of clubs and societies of the students gymkhana. and there is adequate sports facilities in the gymkhana like badminton Court table tennis court and gym. There is also open athletic Stadium. There is Tata steel ground where we can play cricket. There is hockey ground for hockey where pronites is held during fests . there is also a sports fest, which is Shaurya. All the major fest are held in the spring semester starting from first week of January every year. There is an alumni made in the first week of January where different patches of alumni come to meet everyone in the campus. there is a large central library which has a huge variety of books available for all the students. Also there is a gopali welfare society which is an NGO

Hostel Facilities :

there are basic facilities provided in the room like cupboard, fan, one table and chair for each person. The meal quality is good in the mess. There are no specific registration process. The hall of residence is allotted to you randomly in your first year, and after that, also, it is allotted randomly, the fees is awarded affordable and around 15,000 per semester. There are PG available outside the campus, but it is compulsory majorly to live in the campus because it is very accomodative and all the residential complexes are also there.

Admission :

I applied for Vellore Institute of Technology , Vellore and I got admission in its IT Branch but I dropped it because I got selected into JEE Advanced and got IIT Kharagpur which is a better college by all means and is the oldest IIT , mother of all IITs . VIT is however a private college and there are not that better peer group as only students rejected from IIT will attend those colleges, also I had known that IIT has a very good culture and i am experiencing it now how IIT Kharagpur has evolved its culture and continues to shine after 70+ years

Faculty :

There is 1 faculty per 40 students from second year onwards which is an ideal number. In many courses there is a system where two faculties teach simultaneously ( one is senior and one is assistant prof.) so we get to see both the experienced and young professionals at the same time and the teaching is quite well structured and good . The exams are of two types mid semester and end semester . midsems have 30% weightage and endsem have 50% weightage . the rest 20% is covered by tests or attendance . Generally there is no strictness in attendance and professor are chill , however it depends on the professor . Exams are mostly easy and can be done with two days study before exams . There are some old professors like Prof Debashish Chakraborty of Civil Engineering Department who are infamous for being strict in their teaching and grading system, also for the attendance and students don't like him due to this but his teaching is very good and he knows the subject by heart

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well developed and the major areas of learning are adequately addressed. It has prepared students for practice as well as for further education. I wanted to point at such aspects of teaching design that need to be developed : offerings of practical projects and a greater focus on interactive teaching methods. Exams are scheduledd but may prove to need extra assistane for comprehension of some of the contents.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is not that different from other colleges. At the beginning or 1 st semester we are made to complete the bridge course which basically includes stuff we read in classes 11 and 12. But then also they can't teach properly the already read topics.
