The best of Gauhati university

Our university is good for higher education. I like the environment of our college.

I am from a middle class family. So i wanted to study for higher education in a college or university which is not so much experience and which is located in Assam. The admission fees here was not that much high compared to other universities in Assam. And the education is also good.

They provide all the course curriculum. Our class start from 9:30 am to 4:30 p.m. we have 4 subjects and one seminar paper. The teachers are very good. Specially the permanent faculties. They are very friendly. They teach us everything . Whatever problem we get we talk to them. But the guest faculties are little bit strict.

Our university provides internship. Our department also provided internship. But from last 3 years they are not providing any internship even in summer vacation or in winter vacation also. But they allow us to go for internship in other collegey or universities.

In our department we have a placement ane job cell. They contact with the companies to come to our college for campus recruitment. But all the companies that came were not that much big. Some of them are wipro, zaloni. But few students were selected.

We celebrate many events and festivals. In February we celebrate swaraswati puja. In the month of September we celebrate Youth festival along with all the colleges of the university. And we also celebrate the University Festival. There we arrange many events including sports.

The fees structure of each department is different. In our department we have to pay admission fees in each semester. In every odd semester we have to pay 18700 rupees. And in even semesters we have to pay 14700 rupees. There is no any other fees that we need to pay.

There is no scholarship or loan that is availed by our university. They don't offer any. However there are some scheme that is offered by central government or state government which are verified by our university.

There are more girls than boys in our university. However in our department we have more number of boys than girls. The lab facilities are very good. We have sports facilities. There are about 5 field for out door game. And one indoor stadium. But we have no lab for robotics.

The admission fees of our hostels is 4100 rupees which we have to pay in every year once. And the mess fees we have to pay in every month. The amount of mess fees is 1200 rupees. The food is not good in our hostel. They provide 3 times rice. And no tea.

Senior students are very friendly. There is no ragging in our college. They help us in every field.

We have two class tests of every subjects and one final examination at the end of the semester. The class test are of 25 marks each. And the final examination is of 100 marks. All the marks we get in class test will be added in final evaluation and 50% from the marks we get in final.

There are two process of getting admission in this institute. One is GATE exam which is conducted by AICTE and another is entrance exam of this university. I attended both. And i got first position in the university m.tech entrance exam. Then i filled the application for admission which the entrance exam marks.

We have more faculties in our university. In our department are about 12 permanent faculties and 10 guest faculties. All of them are available at any official time. We can talk to them directly. We have our our head of the department. Also we have faculty advisor who help us at anytime.
