Course Curriculum Overview
This is an integrated course where i will be getting a masters degree after completing 5 years. Only tezpur university provides this course other than GU. The curriculum prepares students mainly to pursue careers in academic fields and research fields. More practical aspects can be added to provide a holistic knowledge to the students. The exams are very well planed.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities provided by HDFC banks, in house internships, Various News channels, FMCG companies like ITC,HUL etc provides internship opportunities. Internships at Indian railways and other government organisations can also be availed
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for 1st semester was ?25000 and the subsequent semesters were ?23000. But the current fee structure is ?27000 for 1st semester and 25000 for subsequent semesters. Eligible students can avail NSP Ishan Uday scholarship. For the 1st semester there is one time caution fee of ?2000. Library fee, bus fee and other fees are included in the per semester tuition fees. And there are no exception for fees based on caste. The fee is same for all students. Reservation are applicable only on admission
Campus Life
Annual week or Varsity Week is conducted in March every year. I am the best actor of The University. Rather than that a Commerce fest is conducted by the department of commerce in the month of April-may every year. Campus life is great and a very lively campus
Hostel Facilities
I myself reside in a hostel! Hostels are great. There are approximately 23 hostel for both boys and girls. Electricity, 24x7 running water, cook, cleaner etc are some amenities provided in the hostels. Hostel fees is ?3570 approx for 1st year and 2890 for subsequent years. Food in the hostels are good. As the mess is student run so there is a option of the quality of food. If one opts for private accommodation he can easily find a rented apartment or private hostel within 3kms from the campus. And there are free bus facilities to those areas
Admission
I choose this college because I wanted to pursue integrated masters degree and only Tezpur University And Gauhati University provided this option at that time. It was a great experience and i love it. I was not rejected from any other college that i applied to. I choose this institution on my on will
Faculty
There are 2 exams conducted in each semester. One sessional and one final exam. Sessional exam is of 20 marks each subject and final is of 80 marks. Final exams are held on June and December each year. Marking scheme is 60+20+20. 60 Marks is taken from final exams, 20 marks from sessional or midsem and 20 marks for internal. The professors are very helpful and encouraging towards holistic development of the students.
Night Life
There is not much night life in the campus as the library closes at 9pm and two of the three main gates are closed at 10:30pm. But there is no restriction on movement of students they can roam the campus all night and study and play where ever they want. The canteens and stalls within the campus are closed by 9PM
