Regarding the infrastructure I have a small complaint about the swimming pool

Course Curriculum Overview :

Agricultural and Food Engineering course include courses such as Soil Technology, Groundwater Hydrology, Post Harvest Engineering etc. But many student don't choose this stream as there career either they go for SDE or MBA. But in government sector this branch has vast opportunity like in FSSAI, FCI, UPSC etc. Labs are very good and innovative which gives opportunity to each student to learn new technology like driving tractor to operate Drone. Exam are mid sem exam and end sem exam. 1 semester is of 6 months and each semester has two mid sem exam and end sem exam also except these there are various class tests and quizzes.

Class Size : 72Course Fees : INR 223000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Companies Such as Google, Microsoft, Tata, Mahindra etc provide internships and yes CDC( Career Development Centre) really helps many student to get their internship in their favourite companies. IIT KGP also provides foreign opportunities for doing research intern like Mitacs which offers you to do internship in Canada which is fully funded.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

My hostel fees is around 43000 and tution fees is 115000 per semester. There are many scholarships available in institute based on your Cg and based on your family income. You can also take part in many events and hackathons which institute organises every year to earn money. Institute also provide paid internships.

Campus Life :

Campus life is really awesome. Campus full of nature occupying 2100 acres of land with a lake. Except summers all seasons are best for IIT KGP. You are provided withamy sports facilities like swimming, volleyball, cricket etc. Gym is also available. One of the largest libraries in Asia and it is IIT so technology is on the top. You get two main fests Spring fest and kshitij( tech fest).

Hostel Facilities :

In Room we are provided with one table, chair, bed, lan wifi and fan. Heater, Coolers are not allowed. Mess food is average or I can say below average but yes menu is good. Registration process is easy.

Hostel Fee : INR 44000 per year

Admission :

For this course you have to clear JEE Advanced paper conducted every year. Application form will be available on Josaa website. Jossa conducts various rounds of admission and you have to freeze, float your options with you filled in course section.

Faculty :

Faculty-to student ratio is 10:72 for first 3 years than after that dual degree students seprate according to their courses. Each course has minimum 5 subjects and each subject has 2 faculty and also their are labs in which course professor along with Teaching Assistant (TA) take our classes. Faculty is really awesome but grading is bit hard. Also after every semester there is a feedback form in which we can tell about professors teaching improvement. We can interact with teachers any time personally in their office or through mail if we have any doubt.

Placement Experience:

No companies offered on-campus internship . We were asked to contact by ourselves for off campus internships. You have to work hard and build real world projects. Then apply for off campus internship. Campus placements starts from 7th semester. TCS, Wipro, Infosys and many others mass recruiter come for placement drive . Average is 4 LPA this year 60% students got placements. I am preparing for GATE exam.

The IITan experience

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placement after the end of their 6th semester or third year. All though there eligible for internship after the end of 4th semester or 2nd year for on campus interviews. Almost all big companies of the nation and globally visit our campus. High-profile companies like high frequency trading firms like Quad Eye, graviton all visit our campus. The highest package offered for the computer science and mathematics and computing branch is around 2.2 crores while the median package is around 40 lacs. For my branch of chemical engineering the average package is 21 lakhs with median being 19 lakhs. All big tech companies like Google Apple Microsoft Amazon Facebook all visited campus. Placements and internships are never an issue in our college and are the last thing to worry about. If you can get admission here then you will have much more freedom to explore your entrepreneurial skills and pursue your passions as well.

Placement scenario is okay, it's niether that good nor that bad. Students need to study on their own, apart from college curriculum to get placed in a good company. The highest package would be around 10 lpa and average package around 3 lpa.
