IIT Delhi -Review

Dislikes

  • Strict course policy , professors take their course seriously and deadline and submission and exams are tough , it demands a high focus and time and leave no room for error.
  • there many things to explore and do and in midst of this sometimes academic backlogs create and clearing them is next to impossible in this highly competitive environment where there is a rat race for every small thing

Course Curriculum Overview :

Main aspects of grading and relevance in further studies. courses are well structured and updated regularly but sometimes professors are strict and sometimes they neglect the learning aspect of the course and focus on rote learning. but the lab component has never suffered its best with the best lab facilities. hands-on practice prepares well for real-world application. Many courses include assignments and projects to work on. Exams are well structured and announced beforehand, but the syllabus is not announced.exams are difficult but then grading is done on a relative manner so it is of no worry

Internships Opportunities :

the internship opportunities start in the 3rd year but some students take it in the 2nd year also by working under the professors or taking a research intern. not all students get the internship. but around 200 companies visit the campus for internship opportunities. many student apply off-campus too

Placement Experience :

Placements of IIT Delhi are best in the India. Almost 100% of students are placed. all top national Companies visit the campus, and almost 250 companies visit the campus for offline hiring. the student becomes eligible for placement from the 7th semester. this year a total of 1400+ offers were made. highest package is of 3cr interntion , avg package is 18 lpa and the lowest is 10lpa

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

fee structure is simple, as it is a government institution, fees are subsidies also the reserved category does not need to pay fees, also there are numerous scholarships available, institute sends a mail and is required for every scholarship a person can avail. complete cost without scholarship including hostel fees and mess fees for the general category is 1.5 lakhs per semester. campus employment available are research projects under professors and teaching assistants. both are paid.

Campus Life :

there are many fest that are held, the main fest that are cultural is Rendevous and the technical fest is Tryst. Rdv is generally held in October and the Tryst is held in March. IIT Delhi offers a large number of books in the library, there is a 2 story central library along every department has its library, which also provides e-books in the library. The classroom facility includes a Digital board, projector, mic, speaker, air-conditioner, and attendance marking machines. The campus has field and ground for every type of sports also we have a private sports complex built by our alumni a Student activity center for all extracurricular activities and also an open-air theatre.there are many cultural and technical clubs head by students and run by student representative from hostels

Hostel Facilities :

there are 13 hostels in iit delhi with 2 hostels for girls and 11 hostels for boys. all the hostels have basic amenities with all the facilitities. we are provided an almirah , mirror, table chair, and shared bathroom. mess food is also good ,sunday and thursday we have special food also night messing and extra messing facilities are available.all the students are provided hostel along with the admission .

Admission :

admission is through Jee Advance. For Jee Advance you have to clear the Jee mains and then after qualifying for Jee Adv, you have to register on the Jossa counseling portal for the further application process. eligibility is PCM student. every year a zonal iit conducts a jee adv you can find application form there, fees of form is 2500. generally, it happens in May. all Indian government reservations are available. It's conducted once a year. the exam is generally on a moderate to difficult level.

Faculty :

faculty-student ratio depends on the class, course, and the departments, some departments have more students and some less so it's not fixed. Faculty credentials are no need to be doubted, top class faculty are there, they have done their PhD from top universities of foreign and have already published papers and research.they are interactive, support the doubt by asking in class or after class, they even provide TA to assist us in this matter. approachability is also no issue , we know there office room number , mobile number and email-id along with the TA's

Last years and around 60 % of the students have been placed. Also the average package has gone down and most companies are IT, consultancy and finance. Especially low placements for core engineering fields

As no batch has been passed out from our college, the first batch of BTech placements will be out by 2025 So then we will know about the placement scenarios and on campus and internships, but for a B plan, one should always Acquire for the trending skills in the society, my plans after getting the degree is either I go for the post graduate or I apply to off campus in abroad.

Placements in my college is preety good .. the only thing you have to focus is you have to maintain your cgpa and you have to develop skills .. Bec companies offered roles on the basis of cgpa for example only 9+ cgpa can sit for the position which offer 25-30 lakhs .. so it's very important to take care of it throughout your 4 years of btech

Placements stats are good for IIT Delhi. students entering their 7th semester are eligible for placements. Several companies visited for placements like Accenture, Cognizant, BCG , Microsoft , TATA, Quadeye , Jane street, Tower, etc. highest package was about 2.5cr/annum offered by Jane street for quant. trader profile . consultancy profiles are also high paying jobs.Almost 80-90% students got placed.but I have no interest in coding, AI, ML I want a job in core. so I am planning for GATE.

After sem 6 students are eligible for internship and after 7 sem for placement. Microsoft, amazon, google, and Apple all made a very good no of offers to the students in NSUT. The highest package is the international package around 1.2 cr and the average package is around 15 LPA. Around 90% of students are placed according to the criteria made by the placement cell of NSUT. My plan after my degree is just to get placed in a decent company.

In this college placement is good enough if you have done a decent study then you are placed in a good package and good company. And if you don't do so study related to placement there are some difficulties in getting placed. There are many on-campus and also off-campus placements that occurred in the current session there is 64 lakh the highest package done. And the average package must be 9 lakh or above. And I also prepare for the placements.
