Dislikes
- The bus timing is very inappropriate as the buses only run between the morning shift and evening shift. There are no bus facility in between these two shifts. So these should be improved for better facilities.
- Result of every semester comes very late, so students mainly of final year suffer a lot due to late results which leads to delay in their future admissions and plans to other colleges. So this problem should be solved quickly.
Course Curriculum Overview :
My course was Bachelor in Pharmaceutical sciences, basically it is a degree which teaches you everything about drugs and medicines. The teaching style of the faculty members were good but the only problem lies in the practical classes as there were inadequate instruments and chemicals and many of the chemicals remained expired at the time of experiments, so carrying out practicals was not an easy task. The course consists of 2 internals and one main exam per semester according to PCI. Internal exams consist of 30 marks each and main exam is of 75 marks.
Internships Opportunities :
I did a 1 month internship in Signova healthcare private limited, which is situated in Guwahati. There I learned many things about formulations and production of capsule, tablets, syrups and other medications. Although it was an unpaid internship, but the knowledge we get was very good.
Placement Experience :
The placements are okay okay. Not very good companies come to recruit students of final year. Only MBA students get a high package salary in a good company. Other departments don't get these much of placements as compared to MBA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The tuition fees for pharmacy, engineering, and MBA is little bit high . Apart from these courses, other courses are quite affordable to the students. For pharmacy student, the admission fees was around 42000 and semester fees was 1100. There were many scholarship facilities also for the students. There are scholarship scheme for one girl child , for reserved candidates like SC, ST. So according to the needs and criteria of the scholarship, one can fill the form for the same to have the best out of it.
Campus Life :
The overall experience of my university life was good. Education system is also good. The classroom are very good and spacious. Teachers are friendly and interactive. So it was overall a very good experience of my four year academic journey in the campus.
Admission :
The admission took place by an entrance examination taken by the university itself. One should be 12th pass for applying to any of the courses under the university. For applying to a particular course one should first register himself or herself in the university website and after that they should opt for their required field. The application fees is 500 .University will provide a date for the admission test examination. The test include a written test of 60 marks followed by a Personal interview. If a candidate clears the written test then only he/she can go for the PI.
Faculty :
The faculty members of my department are highly educated and experienced. Everyone holds a Phd degree so are well qualified. The teaching style of each faculty member is very unique and easy to understand. Student easily grasp the things during their classes which made them get good scores in the exams. Apart from studies, faculty members also push the students to participate in other activities of the campus like organising a programme, hosting, sports fest, annual fest and other related tasks to boost their confidence in all the respective fields.
