Sikkim University has released the second list of selected PG candidates for admission to the hostel of the university on the official website. Interested candidates must pay the hostel fee on through the SAMARTH portal i.e. https://cuscuet.samarth.edu.in/pg/index.php/ from July 09 to July 10, 2024.
About Sikkim University
Sikkim University is a central university located in Gangtok. Established in 2007, the university is recognised by the UGC and ranked 151 among top 2000 universities in NIRF 2023 rankings. The permanent campus of Sikkim University is built at Yangang in Namchi district, about 56 km from Gangtok.
Sikkim University offers UG, PG and PhD programs across schools of Human Science, Language and Literature and Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Professional Studies and Social Sciences. Admissions to the 65 UG, PG courses across 7 schools of study is based on the NTA's Common University Entrance Test (CUET). Sikkim University Admission
Sikkim University admissions are completely online. Candidates seeking admission to UG and PG programs must appear for the CUET UG and CUET PG examinations, respectively. Registrations for admission at Sikkim University usually start after result declaration of the CUET examination in the month of June or July. Shortlisted students based on the CUET scores will get the call letter for the Counseling session. Selected students have to present at the Institute for Medical Checkup and Document Verification on the given date. Pay the Admission fee online to secure admission

Sikkim University Scholarship
Sikkim University provides scholarships for students enrolled with financially weak family backgrounds. To get the scholarship, eligible students have to apply the prescribed form along with their parent’s income certificate to the office of the Dean of Students’ Welfare (DSW). Foreign students are not eligible for this scholarship.
Sikkim University provides scholarships to students who fall under the SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD/ NER category. The students have to submit an online application through the UGC portal or a different Ministry portal. There are various scholarships under this scheme as follows:

Sikkim University has an ample amount of facilities like a central library, health center, Gym and Transport facilities for students, throughout the year.
- Central library - fully automated and equipped with modern infrastructure and services required in a digital environment. With a website and application to access books online. Sikkim University has over 50,000 printed books and e-books in the collection.
- Health Centre provides Medical facilities to the students, teachers, and employees of the University and their family members. They have different services in the Health Centre such as Outpatient Clinics, Emergency facilities, Inpatient facilities, Dispensary and Emergency services
- Gymnasium is fully equipped and open 6 days a week for students and staff. The gym has different shifts that have been maintained for male and female users. There are respective gender trainers in the gym to monitor and provide continuous supervision to the gym members. The university provides free bus service to its students at fixed intervals
- Hostel - Sikkim University has 9 hostels: 5 for boys and 4 for girls with well-maintained infrastructure and an affordable fee. The application for accommodation at the hostel can be made online at the time of filling out the online application form and accommodation is provided based on merit, availability of seats. Ques. What is the reservation policy at Sikkim University?
Ans. Sikkim University gives relaxation to reserved categories such as SC/ST students. Students belonging from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes get 5% relaxation in the eligibility criteria. Moreover, seat relaxation will be given according to the Sikkim High Court order of 2016, to ST, SC, OBC and Unreserved students. Additionally, students belonging to physical disability get 10% seat reservation in every course and class.

For the course one should get above 60 percent in 12th and should be from science stream..The application forms are easily available on the internet or one can visit the college campus for the whole procedure.

The addmission process is through CUET. We need to appear for the Common Entrance University Test (CUET) and after the marks are our we need to apply for the preferred university according to our CUET marks and the selection is done based on merit list. There is 5% reservation for the students belonging to sikkim for addmission in sikkim University.

The admission process is transparent. No hidden and personal admission is applied at all. You have to go through the proper channels to get admission. And if you're from SU affiliated college then they give you 5 advantages. Other than that you'll get the same pref as per CUET score.

The Admission process and selection is based on Common University Entrance Test conducted once a year once the exam is cleared one can apply for the University and seat will be allotted depending on the marks obtained last year's cutoff was 130

To eligible for MCA we have to go take CUET exam. On basis of CUET score, you will eligible for the course. As I take admission during lockdown which is 2021, they take bachelor masks for merit list. You can find online application on official website of university.

- Faculties and their teaching style. The faculties are from different corner of country so students can learn many things
- The Sikkim university has many students that are from different corner of India as well as out side of india that creats great unity in diversity

- Sometimes lack of having permanent campus may creat a bit fuss
- As sikkim is a hilly place so as like any other hilly place its a bit costly but not that much

Admission is through CUET. It is a very easy process through online mode and university also provide contacts in case students need any kind of help. Reservation is as per basic guidelines. The hostel facilities are also good and also more than 90% get hostel seats

- I like the venue specifically because it's nearby and very minimum chances of skipping a class.
- We are given opportunity to stand out of the crowd.
Dislikes
- The only thing is that the class is dark and we have to turn on the lights all the time.

Since we are the 1st batch enrolled via CUET therfore the procedure was all online and was efficient. I also paid all the fees online and it was a very smooth process. However the entrance exam itself was bit tough and due to negative marking reaching the 200 marks milestone is a task.

- Campus is not yet ready in this university and the new campus in Yanggang is still on process to complete
- Too much traffic jam causing problem to reach department.

Admission into this institute occurs through CUET entrance exam. One can get into this university if he/she has cleared the CUET entrance both for UG and PG courses. Application can be found in the Sikkim University official website. ST/SC /OBC quota are also available.

For admission to the Pharmacy courses, student must have passed class 12th with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics/Biology. Students have to secure a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination.
