- The first thing that I liked in NITT is the campus. A large campus with a lot of trees and has a cool environment every where
- The campus life here is mind blowing. We have a lot of fests that happen here like cultural fests NITTFEST, Festember, Technical fest Pragyan and Sports fest Sportsfete. Apart from this we conduct events for many festivals that happen around the year
Dislikes
- The facilities present in the campus could be improved more especially for the hostels. All the hostels are still in the olden style with no new facilities introduced
- The course and curriculum are a little bit hectic and they should provide more references and guides for the things taught in class
Course Curriculum Overview :
The one thing good about this curriculum is that it is very flexible. It gives you freedom to learn your interests. Preparation for real world applications are done well and it's very helpful for students who wants to go abroad
Internships Opportunities :
Students from our institute get a wide options for internships. At the end of third year companies come to campus for giving internships. Students also opt for off campus internships by mailing professors or applying for other internship programs
Placement Experience :
Students will become eligibility for campus placements after their sixth semester. A lot of big companies visit our institute like Tata for core and Microsoft , Amazon for software. NIT Trichy holds on of the highest placement records throughout the years .
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fee structure for the course is decent with many scholarship and fee remission provided for many students. They also collect other fees such as fest fees infrastructure fees something like that which I think is not necessary.
Campus Life :
Majorly their are 3 fests conducted in a year. Nittfest which is a inter departmental fest conducted around April. Festember is the annual cultural fest which is held around September. Pragyan is the technical fest which is conducted around March
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel facilities are on of the biggest drawbacks of this institute. The room are old with paint coming off from some rooms. The wifi service is very poor in the hostel and even mobile network is bad due to its remote location.
Admission :
You need to clear jee mains exam with a very high percentile in order to get into NIT Trichy. Jee mains will be conducted soon after class 12 board exams. It's mostly on two sessions followed by josaa counseling
Faculty :
Mostly all the faculties stay in the quarters in campus which makes them available at all times. Faculties either use a ppt or teach with chalk so that every student is able to understand the topic. Assessments are fully based on what the professor says.
