- The campus-Probably the greenest place I have ever seen.
- The culture-From acads to extra currics, everything is unmatchable.
Dislikes
- Competitive environment is the biggest issue .
- Hostel rooms are small and clumsy and maybe some hostels are below average.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Initially, things were on a tougher side as the Maths taught at IITB is a bit tough than what you had solved even in JEE Advanced. It is the major pain that first year students go through. But as time passes you get accustomed to solving such problems.I was good at chemistry and physics, hence I chose to pursue a BTech in Chemical Engineering. The Curriculum is highly practical application based which ensures that students who study it are well-equipped with knowledge at industrial scale. Exams happen regularly but again they help you in thorough revision of content
Internships Opportunities :
Internship is primarily Done through placement cell which floats company names on its portal and allows us to sign in if we are eligible for it.Other than that ,Apping process where you contact alumni or startup owners ,seeking for an intern opportunity is quite common here.
Placement Experience :
Placements are one of the best in our country with my branch's average package going to 20 lakh per annum. Our college has NIRF ranking 1 and hence serves as the hub to nationwide placements. If no Campus Placements are offered we'll go with Apping process where I'll try to approach alumni through LinkedIn or maybe start up owners also.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fees is nearly one lakh rupees. Hostel and mess fee is nearly thirty seven thousand. SC/ST candidates are allowed to not pay tuition fee and Special scholarships are available for students who have a family income less than five lakh per annum.
Campus Life :
I had an amazing campus life.I joined Student Alumni Relations Cell in my second year where I got the opportunity to interact with a lot of alumni and hence made contacts with them.I was also a part of my department student council henceforth serving the department as well.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are above average,ACs and coolers aren't available though, but the heat is somewhat bearable.Hostel rooms are a bit small for accommodating 2 people in one room but the mess food is decent enough
Admission :
The admission process was quite smooth as everything happened through JOSSA portal.I just needed to set my priority order and submit it,rest JOSSA was incharge of doing everything. My JEE advanced rank was AIR 1931 and cut off for chemical engineering in IITB was around 2081 for general category students. Therefore I was well within the eligibility range. In my opinion there were no specific areas for improvement although releasing results for subsequent rounds at a faster pace would be highly appreciated.
Other Applied Colleges
IIT Delhi - Indian Institute of Technology [IITD] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Chemical Engineering)
Because IIT Bombay has a better working environment than IITD and obviously better placement stats along with a beautiful campus and city life.https://www.linkedin.com/in/hridyansh-bhargava-35a390253?utm_source=share&utm_campaign=share_via&utm_content=pro
