Course Curriculum Overview :
1. The CBCS curriculum was first implemented in my college during the academic year of 2019-2020, and as a result, the syllabus was at par with the latest requirements of University Grants Commission. 2. I chose this course because of its updated curriculum, which included in addition to papers in English literature, papers on Environmental Studies, Communicative English, and so on. Further, the obligatory generic elective, which was Philosophy in my case, aided in a better understanding of the philosophical discussions prevalent in my major course, i.e., English literature. 3. The curriculum was effective in the sense that much of the theoretical base, for instance Literary Criticism and Literary Theory, was covered in the final year. This is crucial so far as CUET-PG entrance is considered. 4. Teaching methods were effective as they offered a strong foundation in English literature. However, a constructive feedback could be offered when it comes to Assignments and In-semester tests.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
1. The complete cost of education spanning three years, was no more than ?25,000 in total. 2. For students with valid EWS certificates, the total cost was rather less in comparison. 3. Financial aids were offered twice by the Government of Assam in order to purchase books for the curriculum. 4. Since undergraduate courses were offered, little to no employment opportunities are offered through the campus.
Campus Life :
1. The overall experience on campus was good as lectures are occasionally accompanied with talks arranged by the college. 2. Annual college weeks are held wherein different intra-college contests are organised. 3. Wide availability of books in the library aids in corollary readings. 4. Classes are equipped with smart projectors, and cctvs. 5. Boys common room was duly built on request. 6. Two courts are present for sports such as badminton and tennis. 7. A large field is present where sports like cricket are played.
Admission :
The admission process was rather smooth and systematic. 1. Soon after the commencement of Class 12 results, application forms for undergraduate courses were out, and a helpdesk was present in the college premise for relevant enquiries. 2. Students were advised to regularly visit the online site for admission related notice. 3. Having allotted a date and time for merit based admission, students were asked to be present with their necessary documents and undertakings. 4. Students were provisionally admitted on the basis of their merit, following which document verification and fee payment process ensued. 5. After the completion of fee payment, the admission was secured and an enrollment number was consequently allotted to each student.
