- Not much efforts from management side in coaching
- Not much celebrations and fun in this college
Course Curriculum Overview :
B.Tech Information Technology is one course that is indeed in need in this era and has more scope. And that too , to study this course in CIT college is just a promising one being a top engineering Institute in Tamil Nadu. The curriculum is not literally updated accordingly for the current world but still the students are encouraged to learn them and work on the projects related to them inorder to develop. The syllabus isn't too hard and the coaching is decent. Since 90% of the students are from a very bright academic background they are able to make it all ourselves, but for lateral entries it's just quite the opposite when they're new here, the syllabus isn't too hard nor is their talent low. But the environment and adaptation makes it harder for them and they have to be taken under special care. In the sense, the management have to understand what they actually need. That should be improved. The frequency of exams are good and it all depends on the students regular practice
Internships Opportunities :
De Shaw, JP Morgan and some more companies are offering internship opportunities currently and students are being selected. Official Projects like Samsung's PRISM are going on for the selected students.
Placement Experience :
Students literally become eligible for placements when they are in their 4thyear, but everyone is eligible for internship opportunities.. 100s of companies visit every year and have very good placement records. But in 2023 to 2024 due to recession the placement has been comparatively low.. This problem is not just here but in every other colleges too. But still it's decent here. The highest package this year was 52 LPA, 3 of them from our whole college has been placed for this package.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is no much difference in hikes, they don't easily hike the fee. The fee varies for every student with respect to their community category, first graduate or not, regular/lateral, counseling/management. Sometimes there'll be a huge difference between the fee structure of students. But it doesn't exceed 100000/- infact 1lakh is almost the maximum and in average 65000 rs. There are financial aids. And despite of all these there is scholarship opportunities for everyone and it also depends. I've tried for internship programs through the college and wasn't selected, internship opportunities are not so generous but yet decent.
Campus Life :
There are no official celebrations from the management side despite of Institute day and other simple celebrations. In fact they are just functions. But the departments association make a lot of programs in order for students development. From the students side, we organize national level technical Symposiums every year from every department individually. And yes from the club side, there are nearly 27 clubs in our college and club events are the remarkable and frequent ones. Majorly there'll be flash mobs and musical performances. And regardless of this we have many other events from various clubs Library is decent but can't find many classic literature reads. We release college magazines every year in both English and tamil from the respective clubs. Sports are going decent but still it has to be improved
Admission :
The student should have studied the bio-maths or computer group as their major in high school. There are both management and counseling seats. If they are a lateral entry student, they could've studied any course and still be eligible. But for lateral entries there are no management seats and only through TNLEA counselling. They should've got no arrears. But basically to get into this college the student should have scored very well that it should be a topped one.
