Four years in my college

Remarks :

Nothing I could think of as negative remarks. This college was a stepping stone for my career and life and it facilitated it's part very well to say. I get to learn more in life and profession from the College.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I was more into learning and researching while I was doing the cours. The curriculum was more focused on the real time environment which helped me survive in the Indian IT world. I learnt a lot in the curriculum that helped me lead my life simple.

Placement Experience :

I don't think my college conducted any internship programs. But they had a wonderful placement opportunities which lead me to an MNC where I can show case my talents and skills. I was provided with varieties of IT companies like Accenture, Infosys, TCS, etc.

College Events :

In the period that I studied in the college, They conducted every month tech fair where a speaker from reasearch or tech field will give a speech and mindful discussion to students which led to improve the thirst of learning more. Every year the department conducts lot of events like science day, symposium, exhibition, tech talk, meet a CEO etc. Most of them are college level and cultural event and symposium are intra college level. I was always at the core team deciding and acting on decisions to be made and giving ideas to improve the overall event and knowledge sharing.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Since I'm from a poor background the fee I paid felt expensive. feel structure for me was 70 thousand (indian rupees) for a year including two semesters. It's actually feasible fees for any engineering colleges in tamilnadu. My college is donation and caption fee free. So the fee structure was very moderate I'd say.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

My college provided loan facility for certain caste groups and even though I'm from a poor family, based on the caste I can't avail the loan facility. For all the students of that caste can avail the loan.

Campus Life :

My college had a very good sports facilities, a big football ground and open stadium. Had a volleyball court and also for badminton. since it's a jain minority college, the students studied are from different places of India and from different cultures. For the four years I've studied there I've never experienced or saw any ragging, being bullied or anything like that.

Hostel Facilities :

I reside in Chennai itself so I haven't opted for the hostel facility. From what I heard it's a better place to stay at that staying out of the college premises, if you're from long distance to study here.

Alumni/Alumna :

The alumni network is pretty much great, since we all diversified into pretty much same IT environments. The seniors there of our college helped so much in learning about the things we should learn when we get into an organization etc. In terms clarifying doubts and queries about the previous experience they made a big deal out of it and helped me.

Admission :

Based on the cgpa of my SSLC and HSC marks cut off I got placement via Anna University counselling. I attended the counselling pool on my given date there the college name displayed in number order. My college was in 3 in that circle so I chose the college.

Faculty :

All the staff in the college are Well educated and knowledged staff. Teaching everything with a real time experience and examples which lead to the student experimenting on the technology. It leads to improving the learning a lot.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good for the CSE and IT departments. You can't expect placement if you belong to other departments, there is a placement for the other departments but very less. Campus placement starts in 3rd year itself. They have special classes for Aptitude skills and interview preparation GD and necessary preparations for job placement opportunities. 90% of students from CSE and IT get placed. The average package is 7.5 LPA you can expect a minimum of 3.5 LPA. If you are willing to go for higher studies you can contact the international relation office they have good relations with other universities abroad, they have students exchange programs, research scholarships etc if you are not planning to seat in placement. I plan for higher studies and research after my Btech.

The placements in my college is very good and top companies hire students across every branch with a good amount of package. At the end of 3rd year every student is elegible for the placements in college. About 20 to 25 companies visited for campus hiring and approximately 700 offers were given across the college from every branch. 60 percentage of students got placed in the campus hiring program. Highest package is 24 LPA and the aveyis 5LPA. My plan is to get into a good MNC company which is related to Aerospace technology.
