Course Curriculum Overview :

My course is designed in such a way that it comprises the use of coding and software based analysis. Majority of the compulsory subjects required coding assignments (You don't have to worry if you haven't done coding in your BTech as a mechanical engineer, you will learn it by completing the assignments given here). All professors are cool and some stricts too, but they will dedicate you their time for sure if you have any doubts regarding to studies ( You can even share your personal problems to your guide/supervisor)

Class Size : 60Course Fees : INR 66000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

For MTech students, on campus internship opportunities are less. Companies do come but few. It's better to prepare for placements and do projects well. If you get the internship then you can even get a PPO .

Placement Experience :

Placements at IIT Guwahati are good enough to get you placed. All you need to do is prepare well. As an MTech student if you didn't get placed you can still went for PhD in foreign if you have worked well In your project and your guide is satisfied with your work

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

All the MTech students will get stipend RS 12400/- . From 2nd sem or 3rd sem you have to do your TA duty. Your TA supervisor and project supervisor can same or multiple. They have the rights to stop/cut your stipend if you procrastinate the work they alot you.

Campus Life :

Campus life at IIT Guwahati is amazing. Full of greenary, lakes, mountains, birds and Mighty Brahmaputra river (just a walking distance) etc. Labs are good and maintained well even you can use your lab 24/7. You can join any of the club you want!! The only thing that I was uncomfortable with was humidity.. Humidity is very high in Guwahati. On general days libraries stay open till 2:00am and during mid sem or semester exams it stays open 24 hours.

Hostel Facilities :

Your room will contain a bed, fan, tubelight, bulb and Almera. If you were alloted old hostels your will get a personal balcony too!! Mess food is generally good, less spicy but depends on hostel to hostel catering services provider, but no worries you can switch to any of the other hostel's mess too. Canteen remains open till 3-4 am in the morning along with juice centres.

Hostel Fee : INR 1000 per year

Admission :

My admission to IIT Guwahati was through GATE. The admission process takes place through the COAP. If you belong to reserved categories and your GATE marks(not score) are more or less around the general cutoffs, then I would suggest to fill out forms of all the 2nd generation IITs including Guwahati and Roorkee. You will surely get a branch after round 5 of the COAP counseling

A detailed review of IIT GUWAHATI.

Placement Experience:

My insights will be focussed on M.Tech A mtech student becomes eligible for campus placements from 3rd semester, as for btech i think its 9th semester. Very good choice for Masters in Mechanical

Placement Experience:

From the first semister itself you will be eligible for the internships but the internship opportunities are very less, very less companies have visited for internships For the Campus placement in the second year very good number of reputed companies like bajaj, TVS, mercedes, TATA, Jindal , GE etc have come with good packages Highest in core campanies will be around 16 LPA and average will be around 10 LPA 90 percent of the candidates will be placed generally

IITG, a place to live your dreams

Placement Experience:

For btech students they get eligible for placement in 7 semester for mtech 3 semester I was shortlisted in 3 company SCA technologies, IOD solution and raspa pharma. I got offer from IOG solution. Highest package domestic was 1cr and international was 2.4 cr for this placement 2023-24 season. Till. This time 70% of the students got placed. Out of 1200 students. My plans is to join the job.
