My wonderful experience at IIT Guwahati.

Dislikes

  • Academic pressure is way to much on the students.
  • Campus is way to far from the city hindering our city life and exposure.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is quite comprehensive and relevant. However it required strong fundamental knowledge of basic electronics and physics. But don't worry, the course will be taught from the very beginning. The labs are also quite interesting and it really develops a sense of interest towards labs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fee Structure :- Everything is compulsory to be paid including hostel fee, tuition fee, mess fee etc... The completed cost of education comes out to be around 3 lacs per year. But don't worry a lot of scholarships are also provided on the basis of income status and caste etc.

Campus Life :

Campus life at IIT Guwahati is known for being vibrant and diverse. The campus provides a rich environment for social interaction and extracurricular activities. With a diverse student body from various parts of India, as well as international students, there are plenty of opportunities to engage with people from different backgrounds and cultures. In terms of club involvement, IIT Guwahati offers numerous student-run clubs and organizations catering to a wide range of interests, including cultural, technical, sports, and social causes. These clubs organize events, workshops, competitions, and cultural festivals throughout the year, providing students with opportunities to pursue their passions and develop new skills outside the classroom. The infrastructure at IIT Guwahati is modern and well-maintained,

Admission :

The JEE Advanced exam is a prestigious engineering entrance exam in India. It is conducted for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), which are among the most prestigious engineering institutions in the country. JEE Advanced is the second stage of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), the first stage being the JEE Main exam. Only the top performers in JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced assesses candidates' understanding of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The exam is known for its challenging nature and tests candidates' problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and application of concepts rather than rote memorization. The exam is conducted once a year and typically consists of two papers, each covering Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The format may vary from year to year.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've been enthusiastic about exploring more about software and programming which influenced me to choose the course of Computer Science Engineering. With further development of artificial intelligence, it opens up better learning and job opportunities for students. In my university, computer science is taught by experienced teachers and faculty but it would be better if they were more inclusive of certain topics which are extremely important for the students and raising the level of teaching including practical learning and understanding and also examining the student's capability is one of the aspects to be included.

To be honest, placements were dissapointing however it is getting better day by day. The major hindrance is the location factor but TnP cell works very hard to bring companies and to provide students with equal opportunities.
