Likes

Infrastructure of the college very good. Buildings are well built and modern in design. There are numerous high-tech labs
Student bodies are very strong. Also the club culture is very good engaging students in extra curricular activities

Dislikes

Mess food sometimes is not properly cooked. Also the menu options are less.
Academic pressure is high due to which we are not able to participate in sports activities.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because it offers a wide range of learning opportunities. Also IIT Ropar has a great faculty team of MNC branch and one can easily get a very high placement at this college. The faculty members are highly qualified with great teaching qualities and also are very helpful in nature. The exams are kind of on the tougher side. They are not so tough if we pay attention towards our studies.

Internships Opportunities :

Various number of companies with IIT Ropar for hiring students. Here we have two different ways to do internship. One is two months internship and other is six months internship. Basically this is something which only IIT Ropar gives . This is an advantage to the students and there are many different projects offered by the visiting companies and internship students from IIT Ropar. Do a great work every time.

Placement Experience :

Placements at IIT Ropar are very good as it possesses a high average package and also has good top placements. Many companies visit our college at the time of placements and students get eligible after the seventh semester for a proper placement and for the internship the student gets eligible after fourth semester. Here almost everyone gets placed in the institute placements making 100% of all. After getting the degree, I am planning to prepare for civil services. Being from a family where everyone is employed in government sector I also want to serve the country.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

IIT Ropar offers a great range of scholarship opportunities for students. The students whose parents do not have a salary greater than five lakhs get a very good fee waiver at college. These scholarships are not specifically named. These scholarships are directly offered by college with just a little paperwork. One can have a great opportunity at IIT Ropar with these schemes.

Campus Life :

Life at IIT Ropar is great. Interaction with friends and people from all states gives a great benefit to people living in hostels. IIT Ropar conducts many fests across the semesters. In the fests great singers, actors, stand-up comedians are invited. Briefly saying college life is the best part of one's life. All classrooms are centrally air-conditioned. And also this college provides a great range in sports activities. All sports are available here.

Hostel Facilities :

First of all we are provided with all basic amenities at our hostel. And secondly, students here are not allowed to live outside the campus in PG and all. They require a special permission from the dean. And the Mess food here is decent. And the registration process for the Hostel was also very good. Rooms are allotted on a chit base system.

Hostel Fee : INR 39000 per year

Admission :

To apply for MnC at IIT Ropar. One is to clear JEE Advanced exam with a nice score. To appear in JEE Advanced one needs to clear JEE mains first. In this exam OBC, SC, ST and general-EWS reservations exist. The admission process is already above expectations. One can easily come to get admission at college after clearing the mentioned exam.

From passing 2nd year onwards students are eligible for the placements classes which costs around 10-12k till 4th year. I'm from mechanical field so the highest package is around 18 lakhs and average package goes to 4-6 lakhs.

I was doing bachelor of Technology in computer science. Starting from the classroom to the computer labs , everything is available and well maintained. You learn programming and languages with the help of faculty and for every student there is computer available with all equipments. Inside LPU: Student's prespective

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as I was passionate about coding from my 10th class and technology always fascinates me. In our class, total students were 70 which was same for most of the sections. Some faculty members of my college were good while most of them were tolerable. Most of them had masters degree and some had done PhD. They were focused mostly on the curricullum designed by the university and completed syllabus within the timeline.Our college had separate marks for attendance and any student with below 75 attendance will not be able to give end term exams except for some medical condition. We had CAs (class assement exams), mid term exams and end term exams. The CAs are little bit higher level as that of mid and end terms exams. Overall exams are moderate to higher and someone who had studied the syllabus topics and followed the faculty members will easy pass the exam.

A Closer Look at LPU: A Student's Perspective

Placement Experience:

Placement of cse is very good with respect to other branches. Almost 70–80% of eligible students(having cgpa more than 6.67) get placed in different mnc’s. 1.package less than 4 lacs 80% of placed students get package of less than 4 lacs in companies like cognizant,tcs,techmahindra etc. 2.package in between 4–7 lacs 15% of placed students falls in this category,they get companies like bosch,yodlee,hitachi etc. 3.package of approx 15 lacs Remaining 5% students get placement in amazon(package 16 lpa) which visit lpu every year.

Remarks:

Only one thing I hate about college is they don't paint the building outside of the whole college for income tax purpose I think this is very disappointing thing of the college But otherwise College is good.
